Actually it was KN#35 that was supposed to start the Great Tribulation, no wait.....it was KN#36 that was going to start it........our mistake it was KN#37, oh wait, we're absolutely positive it will be KN#38 that will launch the death of billions of people..................................go forward 30 years...........................we are positive this time, KN#86 will be the catalyst for the calamity to beset all mankind!!!

I left after 9 years ...
by sacolton ini just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.

anyway, i'm glad there is a wonderful support group for those who have escaped the grasp of the wtbts and enjoy life again without the constant fear that the wtbts instills at every meeting.

First rock concert
by JK666 ini have recently talked with other members on jwd about the first time they went to a concert.
it was interesting the different choices of artists, and the age we were when we finally went to one.. my first was after i got my driver's license, so i was 16 years old.
i went to see a concert with black oak arkansas, foghat, and montrose (when sammy hagar was just a pup).

Its a hypnotic relationship.....witnesses are programmed to defend the org and its leaders at all costs and go into this mode much like a "body snatcher". I chose Evidently becuase it was a word that the WTBTS used just before they were going to stretch the truth, mis-quote a source or try and make a point that wasn't even accurate.
My avatar is Mustafa from the Austin Powers movie and he was pretty funny in the movie.....no other reason.

My Struggle.............
by AK - Jeff init has dawned on me that i have not become the christian that i thought i would when leaving the jw religion.. i don't deny the power of faith, i retain faith in something beyond just the here and now, or maybe i retain credulous belief that way?
i have discovered that my religion was bad - then i discovered that the 'holy writ' upon which it is founded is pretty leaky also.
then i discovered that most "holy writings" are just as porous.

I was lucky, I got the guitar back that I lusted for......It was an Allen Chester custom built. Allen Chester was a guitar luthier (sp?) in Florida and hand built both acoustic and electric guitars. Allen used to build custom guitars for Molly Hatchet, Johnny Van Zant (see the "Thanks To" notes on any of their albums) and other southern rock bands. Allen built this strat that I played at his house just after he finished it, He didn't build it for anyone in particular but it was a incredible guitar. The neck was especially well done and the action was razor low up and down the entire fretboard. Anyway, Dave Lubeck from Molly Hatchett played the guitar at Allen's house as well and asked him if he could borrow it, they were going into the studio to make the Flirtin With Disaster album. Dave told Allen when he returned the guitar that they had used the guitar on every track of the album. To make a long story short, the guitar was too expensive for me to buy, (I was a teenager at the time) and it was sold to a friend of mines father, years later I stumbled across the friend at a mall, asked him about the guitar and found out that he had it now and it had been sitting in its case in a closet for several years.........its mine now.........
