Hi The wanderer!!

I used to read the Awake mag faithfully. My efforts should have earned me a college degree by now.

When they started publishing it only once a month I decided that my education could stand a little expansion. From reading additional information,(some scientific, some history, some just thought provoking logic) I have decided that WT literature is adulterated bs, and some outright lies.

Hopefully by next year I can afford to go back to school and get the real education that the cult has kept me from for the last 45+ years.

Watchtower literature should be outlawed for children and the weak minded like I was. I think someone already said that.

I am ready to burn all of my old wt literature. Does anyone else want to have a bonfire???

I think it was in the 1980's that the local congregation had a book burning of incriminating older books. Does anyone remember that? It's time for another one!!!!!

after lady liberty gave a link to the new re-examine site, i found some details that are so disturbing its boggling my mind.. first, the original presidents were voted in, but not one vote per person but for every $10.00 contributed you received a vote.

so those already in power and with much money had tremendous sway as to who got in and who didn't.

this little scheme was not stopped until 1944.. so when rutherford was "elected by a unanimous vote" we can assume it was mainly of his own doing based on money contributed.

How could you verify that as an official document from the year 1917???

If it is legitament it looks like Rutherford really abused his authority. Was his takeover of the
corporation ever challenged in a court of law???

The more you learn the worse it gets.

Hello!!! All of this is quite interesting.

A fact that needs to be added here is that when the corporation was first founded Russell did not own the majority of the voting shares.

The result of his lesser investment??? He was not the first president of the corporation. His business partner who invested $5,000.00 more than he did was the first president.

When Rutherford did the hostile takeover some people continued as International Bible Students and that group still exists in some form.(Goggle it up) Rutherford quickly made changes. By the 1930's the change to a new religion was almost complete.

They should have been called Rutherfordites, but no!!!! They called themselves JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES!!

Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?

just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?

If the WTS closed shop, who'd get the money?

i don't really understand who really are the beneficial owners of the watchtower society and all its assets.. so i pose this question: if the watchtower society closed down tomorrow and all the assets were sold off, who would get the billions of dollars?

the wts shareholders??

or are there jw companies which are "owed" huge amounts by the society, and so all the cash would simply go to these "companies" to pay off the "debt"?.

Let's just get something straight about 1975.

nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

Don't be so hard on the birdie...... Jehovah in all his mercy has extended the time so more people could learn the "truth". The end must be very close now!!! Sell your homes, start pioneering,don't persue a secular education. You can get the equivilant of a college education by reading Awake magazine once a month.

Be thankful it didn't happen in 1975. Look how many more have joined the organization since that date.

But the end is close!!! So be on the gaurd.
