  How stupid do I think I am?

  today, as i wait for the grout on the kitchen floor to dry, i began to ponder...... i wonder looking back just how insensitive to reality i could have been to have spent the vastness of my youth and midlife believing the obvious lies of jehovah's witnesses.

  though i enjoy my freedom, i have no foundational background upon which to prop it.

  though having a sense of being reborn, that rebirth has taken place late in life, and has left me feeling somewhat empty.

  Almost ditto for me! Only I am 58 yrs young no matter what my body is telling me. After leaving JWism behind I started college. It has been great!

  Really when I am at school I don't feel my age. There, my peers are other college students and professors and very few of them are older than me. It often puzzles me that while at college I don,t feel my age.

  Some people jokingly ask me what I will be when I grow up. I say I haven't decided yet!

  I will let each day prove its own worth. Enjoy every new thing or even every old thing. One thing I learned on JWD is don't be afraid to say "I don't know the answer". It used to bother me not to have an answer for questions. Now it doesn't bother me to even say "I don't know what the future holds."

  growing up as a jw i never really believed in god.

  i thought everyone else didn't really believe either.

  when some sort of religious activity or speak was going on i was just pretending and i thought everyone else was pretending too.

  My god!

  What do we call god? The other day I had a revelation. Time is god! We all answer to time! Time heals all wounds! Time is the revealer of secrets! I believe in Time! Time has left its mark on me! Time is not really that forgiving either.

  Oh well it will take me someday! But until then life is grand!

  ),as jehovah`s witness`s.....in wbt$ world,not much makes sense,if you think about it......i`ll give some examples...........#1:windowless kingdom hall`s..filled with window washers!..lol!

  !........#2:100`s of kingdom halls with security systems..with the security numbers set at 1-9-1-4..(no one will ever think of that..this place is safe!..lol!!

  Yes I like that! Shun the relatives but go door to door in search of anyone that will listen ...pedophiles, perverts, anyone!!!

  I saw two pedophiles in the same car group last year. One of them was even listed on the child molester data-base of the local law inforcement. The other was protected by JW's "mouth of two witnwesses" rule. What child molester is going to have an audience? Least of all someone that would squeal on them?

  what angers you about the truth

  this angers me .

  elders who will not make shepherding calls to comfort their brothers and sisters but as soon as that brother or sister puts one little foot out of line those same f-----g (sorry about the language but it really angers me ) elders can not move fast enough to form a judicial committee and then are so unmerciful - it makes me want to vomit literally

  I agree with most here, that calling it "The Truth" is truly dishonest. When my own mother said something about me leaving the "Truth", I firmly made it clear that the truth has never been more important to me.
  
  She could not quite grasp the significance of my statement. She is nearly 89 years old and mostly a sweet old lady, so it is easy to overlook her misunderstanding of my reasons for avoiding JW speak and JWism. Their "pure language" is really quite distorted and full of errors.

  i've been reading a few pages of threads from saturday until today and i can't understand why some,(actually very few) try to damage this site.

  this is one of a handful of (ex)jw sites that really helps people get out of the organization.

  the interaction that we have here shows anyone how we can leave the so- called "truth" and enjoy life!

  I appreciate this forum. It has been very educational for me. Some of the research privided here has been the best.
  
  I avoid threads that seem to be devoted to straight, bi, gay topics exclusively. You can find that stuff anywhere on the net, even when you don't want to.
  
  I don't post very often. But I think Simon deserves a large THANK YOU for helping to liberate so many people from the WT BS.
  
  Simon please keep up the good work, even if it is trying at times!

  How would the Society give up 1914?

  during the 1930's when the society was quietly moving jesus' presence from 1874 to 1914, it only seemed to ruffle a few feathers and most accepted this "brighter light.

  " how could the society abandon 1914 and still keep most of its followers?

  It is just about time to have another book burning!
  
  Some of that old light may be confusing to new ones and the spiritually weak so they need to eliminate as much of that disturbing info as possible!
  
  JW's should only read the most current info and....SHOULD NOT....research anything not currently in the Kingdom Hall library system!

  "Sprouting" ... Does anyone here do this?

  i didn't want to hijack the "how to save money" thread, but just wondered if anyone else here does his/her own sprouting (making sprouts from beans or seeds).. if you buy sprouts in the supermarket, they can very expensive, expecially if you like to mix 2 or 3 types within a salad.

  additionally, if you don't have easy access to an asian market, the long white bean sprouts can be expensive.

  locally here in miami, we pay about $2 for just a 12 ounce package.. i started sprouting my own things several years ago, not so much to save money, but more to have a fresh supply of sprouts and not have to go to the store as often.

  Does anyone remember an article in Awake mag about a family that lived for a whole wear on sprouts?
  
  Their food expense was nil and they were all all healthy. It was one of the few believable articles that I remember. I have tried sprouting and need to get back to it.
  
  Essene bread from sprouted red wheat is great. It tastes more like cake than bread. The only ingrdeint is sprouted grain and maybe raisins for a treat.

  i was surprised to find that charles taze russell, of the russell family line (of course) was reportedly part of the setting up of the skull and bones society.. i have read many refutes that ct was a 33 degree mason but, let's leave that as a possibility along with his 13 bloodlines of the illuminati link and consider this scenario as a possible and worrying possible conspiracy theory.. fritz springmeier and some others (again all holding suspension of our disbelief in control here for a few moments, please), commented on the setting up of internement style camps around the united states and some pictures and sites are to be found on the net.. now, there are various 'christian groups' all anticipating the 'time of the end'.

  the jehovah's witnesses, for example are expecting to be persecuted and then 'saved' by god.

  they anticipate 'the end' at any time.
