I wish the parking attendant videos would cover the parking lot scandals.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/66723/tacoma-dome-parking-scandal
While it was exposed in Tacoma, I remember how they collected money at the Kingdom Hall for parking passes and then let people park without them in another place, because they weren't supposed to charge for parking unless there was a deal with the stadium, which already had to concede the use of food concessions.

Parking Attendant Training Videos
by Jofi_Wofo ini know that all of the assembly/convention attendant training videos have been leaked publicly, but has anyone gotten a hold of the parking training videos?.
i saw these about a year and a half ago, when i was still pimo.
as bizarre and manipulative as the attendant video series is, the parking videos put them to shame.

Would the world be a better place without religion?
by pistolpete ini know what you’re gonna say---------everyone has a right to believe whatever they want.. but the question above is not about everyone’s right to believe whatever.. the question is very specific------will the world be a better place----without religion.
think for a while what the world would be like without any religion.. no conflicts between islam and christianity.. no conflicts between different sects of christianity.
(example; jehovah’s witnesses vs catholics).

It is cute that you claim to "know what [I am] gonna say. Ex-JW's are a crowd just like a herd of cats- all wanting to do our own thing and think our own way, so you really can't know what we are going to say.
Initially, I want to say that the world will definitely be a better place without religion. But I have to clarify that it would only be so under certain conditions.
You say there would be "No conflicts between Islam and Christianity, No conflicts between different sects, No families being broken up because of Religious belief."
I remember seeing an episode of South Park that helps with this.
The character, Cartman is hundreds of years in the future due to cryogenic suspension. Worldwide atheism has eradicated religion. Atheism has in turn split into three hostile denominations at perpetual war over the so-called "great question": Cartman discovers the nature of the "great question": the war is being fought over which denomination name is the most logical for atheists to call themselves.
There is war over what name should be used for Worldwide Atheism, so essentially 3 religions or "sects" have been created, split over a stupid issue. And that could happen if religion did not exist- groups could be so divided over issues like liberalism vs. conservatism, homeschooling vs. traditional schooling, so many issues- many of which are just like religious arguments today. Families could be broken up over issues like who they voted for.
I would love to see religion gone- a major cause of division. But it would not solve all the problems that exist primarily because of religious divide. -

How many TRUE BELIEVERS do you think are left in the Organization?
by pistolpete ini have a few jw relatives who are true believers.
by this i mean, they believe with all their heart that 1914 was the beginning of the last days, that this is the last generation, that we are in the very last of the last hour of this system of things, and that you should obey the governing body even if it does not make sense.
all of them are in their 60s and up into their 90s there is nothing you can say or show them to convince them or even cause a small doubt that the wt is not god organization.

Any jw under 50 years of age I don't consider, for the most part, a True Believer.
Yes, I will agree with that thought from the opening post. There might be a handful of true believers under 50, but not really many. -

Did The Witnesses Mess Up Your Sex Life?
by minimus inmost of the witnesses i knew never really talked about sex.
whatever couples did was pretty much kept quiet.
every once in a while a wife might complain to the elders or a friend that the husband is too demanding or even immoral because of the sex practices the husband wanted.

It is a great question. While I won't share my thoughts on my life in my answer, the answer is "Yes" for everyone.
Yes, I can speak for everyone. -

Prove That Jehovah’s Witnesses Do Not Have The “Truth”
by minimus insomeone is researching jehovah’s witnesses.
they happen to come on to this site.
do the witnesses have the truth??.

What evidence would I provide?
It depends on the person and what they need to convince them. For the most part, I would steer people to the same kinds of places I went to, one primary internet site being jwfactsdotcom. If they need their hand held to guitde them, we could discuss changes in doctrine and policy, flip-flops on Bible understanding, or we could go to covering up the UN involvement and more current situations like hiding pedophiles. -

Would you leave the Watchtower if you woke up at age 80 plus, or just stay in for the rest of your life.
by pistolpete inso yesterday while i was doing some work for a customer, i noticed the wt mags on the sofa.
and i asked the elderly man if he was a jehovah witness?.
he said that he and his wife and all his children were raised in the religion, but only he and his wife attend the meetings or zoom.
-
OnTheWayOut
All his children had left the religion.
Well, hold on there a minute. At such a late stage in life, I might trade in my "friends" for a closer relationship with my own children. There just isn't enough information here. I could go along with my wife and "stay" if we had absolutely nobody else to turn to in order to, but even then- we would have each other.
Well-meaning friends are awesome, but I just don't think I could keep my mouth shut in order to have rides to the doctor or grocery errands from younger friends or people to spend time with. -

Why do some people who were trapped in the WT and wake up, still believe in the Bible God who allowed them to be deceived for years.
by pistolpete inwhy do some people who were trapped in the wt and wake up after much frustration and anger that they were lied to, still believe in the bible god who allowed them and their families to be deceived and trapped for years.
i have an acquaintance who is a lot older than me and for the past 30 years he has been out of the watchtower religion and is sola scriptura.
sola scriptura is a theological doctrine that posits the christian scriptures as the sole infallible source of authority for christian faith and practice.

I had a long answer but this forum dropped it.
I am right there with you Pistol Pete.
I turned my entire life over to "God" whoever he was in my young 20's when I had reached rock bottom in my life. Jehovah's Witnesses came in like vultures and took advantage of that.
If the God that Christianity describes were there, He would have intervened and recognized my sincerity to do "His" will. If He chose not to intervene, then I don't need to worship that.Taking the personal story out of it, the same can be said for the 2004 Indonesia Tsunami. If more than 200,000 people can be torn away from life, tens of thousands (probably greater than half of that number) being children, and God stands by- we don't need to worship that.

Accepting the reason why the Watchtower Corporation and its top leaders are endeavored to brainwash people
by Rocketman123 intaking a close look at the operation of the jws religion you can observe technics of brainwashing orchestrated through the literature the wts publishes for its members such as the watchtower .. everything these men have done had calculating agendas, which were to firstly attract attention to the literature they published, to cultivate power toward themselves, to intentionally take control over people's lives and of course draw in money.. brainwashing (also known as mind control, menticide, coercive persuasion, thought control, thought reform, and re-education) is the concept that the human mind can be altered or controlled by certain psychological techniques.
brainwashing is said to reduce its subjects' ability to think critically or independently,[1] to allow the introduction of new, unwanted thoughts and ideas into their minds,[2] as well as to change their attitudes, values and beliefs.

"Brainwash" is one of those words that instantly shuts people down.
If I tell a JW about brainwashing, they just know that they are able to think some for themselves and the idea is crazy to them.
Even here among people who are no longer in the religion, you will get arguments about the term.
Watchtower is a dangerous mind-control cult. But that's just as bad to say.Given the chance, I would start with "high control" group. And then I would use Steve Hassan's BITE method without identifying where it comes from.
