(or whatever you beleive in of course) every one put down there main reasons, along with reasonable facts and backup as to why.. .

why do we have a brain capable of 3 million years of infomation when we live for ony a mere 80 odd years?
Science doesn't know everything they claim to know about the brain. While it is true that humans can function on far less available mass of brain (you could just cut it out and a person would still function) that doesn't mean that the rest of the brain is not being used in some fashion. People can make many more connections in the brain by learning, reading, experiencing. The synapses and dendrites in the back of the brain can be used by mentally active people. There may be a host of reasons for the developement of "extra" brain. Our creativity, compassion, curiousity, love, etc may be reinforced by things we store back there.
My personal theory on the brain: We store every single memory of anything we ever thought, saw, said, read, smelled, touched, etc. in our brain somewhere. A fully more functional human (not perfect in WTS thinking, but more functional in our current state) than the average person could use much of that information to increase his chances of survival and reproduction. While I don't know how we got here, my theory fits into survival of the fittest.

Jehovahs Witness Joke
by BelieverInJesus ini thought it is ironic that the jehovah's witnesses force their members to go door to door throughout the neighborhoods.
and then once a year american's have a tradition where our kids go door to door throughout the neighborhoods on halloween.
but the jw's kids can't go!

Do any people trying to fade out of the organization have any trouble coming to this forum and going to the Kingdom Hall?
Specific problems might be:
1. Wanting to use acronyms or names from the JWD (JayDUB, Borg, etc.) while talking to the JW.2. Wanting to tell someone at the Hall about a great point that you learned
but know that you would be asked how you learned that?3. Wanting to stand up at the Hall and shout "Auld Soul or Blondie was right about that!"
4. Wanting to get too specific on the JWD about personal information that others might
try to clue in on to pinpoint who or where you are located (for paranoid posters like myself).Any other problems, you get the idea.

Should I DA myself or not?
by Mrs Smith inthis is my first post, some of you have read my hubby's story - agent smith - anyway i was just wondering if i should write a letter to disassociate myself or just leave things as they are.
i have not been to meetings for about 8yrs but have only just come to realize what a load of rubbish the jw's teach.
now that i have read "crisis of conscience" i have no doubt that jw's are corrupt.

Read Little Toe's advice again, print it if necessary. Find Peace in your own victory over JW's.
You've succeeded in leaving, and still retained your family insofar as you want to involve them in your life. I, for one, covet your good fortune. You hold all the cards.
If you DA the chances are there will be an incredibly short announcement and most of the congregation will say "who?". Your family will then likely disown you, for no other reason than an announcement was made. A terrible anti-climax to eight years of effort.
You've already won! Try to find your closure some other place, and really live your life

The Memorial and Weddings and Funerals in the Kingdom Hall are very ritualistic- stick to that outline and timing.

Just wanted to say Hello!
by RandomD ini am from the southeast usa, and i started going to the kh when i was about 14 years old.
i went pretty regularly until i was about 18, then i went to only sunday meetings.
i married my husband of 16 years, who was a baptized jw ( i wasn't).

Hello and welcome.
It's rough for your kids, but if you push your husband, he might actually take them to the KH more. DON'T WANT THAT.
I hope you get some good advice on how to help your husband more fully OUT.
