I am from the Southeast USA, and I started going to the KH when I was about 14 years old. I went pretty regularly until I was about 18, then I went to only Sunday meetings. I married my husband of 16 years, who was a baptized JW ( I wasn't). And I guess as a result he started missing meetings because I was. And now, he rarely goes at all. Maybe about once every 6 months or so. Anyway, we have 3 kids, and I feel bad for my kids because he doesn't let them participate in anything....holidays, birthdays, football games, even just social events with their friends ( I have to practically beg him for the few times that they have been allowed.) But yet, he doesn't teach them about JW or the Bible. So there's no conviction for anything, religious or otherwise.

Back to me, the main reason that I quit going was because all of my close 'friends' in the truth, were getting baptized, and I felt like I wasn't quite ready. And they pretty much quit associating with me. Even as an adult, I have found much closer, more decent friend out 'in the world'.

    Just wanted to say Hi!!!

    Hello RandomD. Welcome to JWD!

It's good that your kids have you to stand up for them.

Welcome Random, the JWs are indeed a very peculiar lot if one doesn't get baptised or go out to preach their propaganda they give such people a very low evaluation regardless of an otherwise very moral behaviour.

    Hello and welcome.

It's rough for your kids, but if you push your husband, he might actually take them to the KH more. DON'T WANT THAT.

I hope you get some good advice on how to help your husband more fully OUT.

    Hi RandomD. Welcome.

I also live in the Southeast U.S. In Georgia. I am trying to get in touch with couples that live nearby that my wife would be okay with us associating with. She is still an active JW, and she wouldn't feel comfortable associating with a DF'd person, but since you were never baptized...it would be possible.

Just a thought. Not trying to scare you, or anything. I fully understand if you would be uncomfortable w/ a real life meetup.

    Respectfully,
    AuldSoul
