well hi to everyone and heres my two penneth worth........... speaking from personal experience............i was depressed b4 i was married at age 18.........then as i was on tranquillizers from the doctor..........i had no energy.........i was sluggish.......had little libido.......couldnt get the housework done...and felt pretty useless. My father (bless him) had labelled me lazy, and my husband took this on board..........one day when i was watching t.v (i used it as a means to escape reality) when i should have been ironing his shirts......he just got me by the throat and shook me.......... that was the beginning.......... i was so low, i sought solace from a very kind man at work, just because i felt unloved and used at home.......(used as in, the only time he was nice was when he wanted sex). well this affair at work ultimately led to sex, making me guiltridden too. see this is a viscious cycle, i wasn`t a jw at that point, but yet felt God would not accept me as i was, so what did it matter what i did anymore. i had 5 affairs in all. i knew it had to stop, it was wrong.........so i stopped it. that was that was around 1980 in the year 2000 my husband asked me if i`d ever had any affairs (he had always suspected apparently), now........being at that time a jw, i had to be honest, i told him........crushed him..........went through a very rough couple of years, had counselling, now we`re ok thankfully.......... But the guilt i felt gave me a breakdown, i was so out of it for several years.........so for me depression came first.........during........and after. but confession freed me! hope this helps in understanding it a little better........ much love to all as always dissnchntd1. hugs

Is a sexually promiscuous life style linked to depression or insecurity?
by free2beme ini work in an environment at work that is a mix of adult ranging in age from 18-50. there are 300 plus people in the building, and that means you get a lot of soap operas happening from people sleeping with other people's girlfriends, boyfriends and even people cheating on their spouses with people they work with.
among the bunch is a large group of people who spend a lot of time passing themselves around, and sampling many sexual partners.
of the people who i know, i have often found that many do not seem as happy as one might think.

Ever know of a great family movie, the Witnesses found demons or evil in?
by free2beme ini remember growing up, the witness children were often ones that were left to see all those g rated movies from disney.
yet even those at time, while accepted by just about every religion out there, were considered demonic.
for example, the following movies were said to show witchcraft and in or congregation we were encouraged to discard them and not own copies of them; sleeping beauty, snow white, the little mermaid, bed knobs and broomsticks, and fantasia.

jeff, i agree, a lot of cong members are also not strong enough to stand alone once the "rug" of the wtbts has been pulled from under them, they have used it as a crutch for so long they just can`t handle life without it. I think thst those of us who have been blessed to get this info and have taken it on board, have been pretty tough cookies to start with.............personally i think its all being orchestrated from above, i`ll just wait n see where i fit in to the scheme of things, tho i have an idea..............that when the wtbts poop hits the fan so to speak, that there will be a need for the informed such as ourselves to come to the aid of the "trainwrecked" ones reeling from the devastation to their "wt world". When it happens its gonna be rough on them coz they havent seen it coming. just my two penneth worth......... love to all dissnchntd1

The reason behind shunning
by JH inwhen you think about it, when the elders disfellowship and then shun a person, it's to make an impact on the active ones still going to the meetings, rather than the df'd one.. they elders couldn't care less about the one who has been disfellowshipped.
that person is dead to their eyes.. the reason they make this so terrible, is a warning to the ones still active, not to try this.. some kind of blackmail, intended to the active ones.. .

hi Juni yeah after the marking i got really peeved and wore a suit and tie, did they hate that lol. BUT.............it was a good exercise as it showed me just who in the cong had unconditional love, there were more than io expected. i`m still in contact with some too, those who are also asking questions of the validity of some of the rules and regulations. bottom line i serve God n Christ not some man made organization, and i don`t need the kh for that. i even felt a bit sorry for the elders in the end, they have no idea how to cope with a strong woman. lol. much love dissnchntd1

yes the lesser shunning referred to here is known as "marking", i swear that this was done to me simply because i dared to wear pants to the kh. (i`m female) the odd thing was, i was counselled on this and told, that it was not proper for sisters to wear pants to the kh. um well.................if its not "proper" at the kh then surely it isnt proper to wear them anywhere for any sister at any time? Fact is the wearing of pants for sisters is NOT unscriptural, its just another of their "commands of men". so pathetic! Glad i`m out it.........i drifted into oblivion...........and it feels soooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooood! much love to all you fellow spiritually abused people, for that is truly what we are. dissnchntd1
