it broke my heart to read about someone having to paying court fee's after wining a sexual abuse case against the wtbts.

she ended up winning 5,000 dollars but has to pay 220000 dollars in court feee to wtbts and for her lawyer.

hello everything, it has occurred that time passed and now i choose to post a new message to hopefully enlighten you with my miracelous presence.. seriously, since i last posted a real message i continued associating with jw's.

IMO - you are probably going to end up wasting both your time and your energy in this mission. Most JWs suffer from an institutionalized mentality and will not listen to you.

Remember: they believe they have absolute truth supplied by almighty God - what can you possibly say to convince them otherwise? Many have tried and many have failed, even people like Raymond Franz only have partial success.

Individuals when isolated from the hive may be swayed by attitude. Rather than supplying reams of information, why not chip away at individual witnesses who appear to be thinking outside of the box?

On point 2, are those lectures that are lectured at the theocratic school (i believe thats what its called) from the corp or did individual JW's write them? Can i come up with one and read it to them (preassuming the elders accept it)?

Not going to happen - unless that congregation exists through "Alice's Looking Glass" - you would be man-handled out of the hall by the burly brothers at the back as soon as they detected 'apostate' intentions.

Just unplug yourself, walk away, and adjust yourself to being fully disconnected. They are full of shit and in denial. You can present an entire volume of well reasoned information and it will end up in the Watchtower recycle bin.

even though there is overwhelming evidence that jesus died on a cross and not an upright state, the organization still stubbornly clings to this feeble idea, siting of course, the ridiculous notion that, because the cross was a 'pagan symbol', jesus couldn't have died on it.

as if the romans gave a damn that the cross was pagan.

Beardo, the (probable) addition to Josephus is in Greek and uses stauros, so the mere use of "crucifixion" in English translation doesn't really solve the question -- although it is pretty clear to me that stauros did mean a T-cross in this context.

My point is, that the orthodox church have used the image of the cross since the early days of Christianity, so who should we trust?

To be honest, I no longer care either way, as I can see the agenda both ways. JWs want to be seperate so have to use their own unique iconography and get very dogmatic about this whole issue.

Its pathetic really.

This obvious forgery credited to Josephus may shed light on the matter:

At this time there was a wise man who was called Jesus. And his conduct was good, and he was known to be virtuous. And many people from among the Jews and the other nations became his disciples. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. And those who had become his disciples did not abandon his discipleship. They reported that he had appeared to themafter his crucifixion and that he was alive; accordingly, he was perhaps the Messiah concerning whom the prophets have recounted wonders.

Whoever the forgers were (and nobody knows for sure) - even they indicate that a guy called Jesus was 'crucified' and most of us know that crucifixion involves that nasty Pagan cross.

Surely these guys who shoehorned that into the texts would know better than a small group of individuals popping up in the late 19th century.

But, of course, this is a mute point in reality as death is death however the person is killed, and as has already been stated - the JWs love to be separate from everything orthodox!

They are remaking it, but I doubt it will be as good. A bit like the poor remake of Dr Who. Mind you the original Dr Who was a bit poo as well.

I also heard that O.B.L. was with the CIA. I am not surprised at anything I hear. While I do agree that governments have agendas, I cannot agree with your statement about a "phantom" Islamic terrorist network. I have seen the hostility and know it exists. It is no phantom.

'Islamic Terrorism' does exist, but not to the degree that they would have us believe. Especially within the western world. If you saw the amount of Muslims who live around here, you would half expect a bomb to be going off at every council house throughout the city if you read certain tabloids.

At a recent peace rally I attended, a man from the UK was running up and down the parade waving a SUN newspaper at us, yelling "you are the real trouble makes, you are the terrorists" ... that said it all really. A dumbed down nation, with people who just go along with whatever the media have to say.

Thanks for the thoughts concerning "looks" - I don't mind really, as I've been called all sorts over the years, its like water off a ducks back.

It makes me angry that because of bureaucratic corruption and inefficiency, we have to NEEDLESSLY surrender some rights.

Where as, it should make you angry that they are forcing the image of a phantom Islamic terrorist network upon you daily through the joke media outlets, becasue they are happy for you to give up your rights.

Did you know that Osama Bin Laden was a former CIA asset? One of the good old boys.

Don't kid yourself, they are not as inefficient as you think. When it comes to what "they want" - "they get it".

Try not paying your taxes or stop paying for a TV license (in UK) and they will hunt you down like a dog.

Would you really want to live in a 1984 style police state, where nobody trusts their neighbour anymore?

If I for instance despised the UK & US government and encouraged other people to wake up and see that they are useless, selfish, war-mongers, does that then give the state the right to strip my place apart looking for evidence to use against me as I may be a possible terrorist?

Or, because I happen to hold hardcore Islamic beliefs and live in a town near you, would you be happy to see me carted away, strip searched and my family bothered just to make YOU feel a little more safe in the delusional fantasy world that is thrust upon us daily through the tabloid press.

I remember after 9/11, that just because I look a little foreign (olive skinned) and had a beard, that people on local transport began to eye me with suspicion. I also had a group of local youths shouting 'Osama' at me that year and laughing.

The fact is, how many people here have been directly & physically affected by terrorism? I will hazard a guess and say hardly anybody.

Whereas, how many of us here have been living under an umbrella of fear due to media brainwashing campaigns???
