She has an amazing voice. You have to hear it for yourself. And while you're listening, check out the book case behind her. Looks like a full blown DUB book case to me! http://www.bix.com/entry/14768?sort=CREATED_DATE&memberId=13827&itemIndex=2

Called for Jury Duty
by frankiespeakin ini'm what you would call a unpatriotic, and a free thinker who doesn't agree with the judicial system in california.
i've been called for jd about six or more times and every time they never use me because i make it very plain that i don't and won't play be thier rules when it comes to jd.
usually i'm the first one the prosecutor dismisses because of my free thinking unpatriotic point of views that i make known as soon as i can.. i think our prisons are over crowded because of the states eagerness to inprision people, for things that i can never agree with.

Gee, I don't know, frankiespeakin'. Maybe you'd rather be "forced" to be judged by the likes of buffalosfree. Sure would put a quick end to your misery if you were ever arrested for something.

by AK - Jeff ini am smitten with christmas music now.
i love it - after 40 years of cringing at the sound of the season.. i just made a cd with about 20 different renditions of white christmas.

I believe there would be more candidates stepping up to the plate for cases if only they would provide what they would have lost due to income.
I agree.
However, at risk of sounding too politically correct, I have to disagree with the general negative attitude towards jury duty. I was called this summer for duty; I wasn't picked to serve (wasn't even questioned). However, I was aggravated at the pure drama some of these people displayed in order to "get out of it". Women bursting into tears about how they're so stressed and don't feel well enough to serve, etc. (I know one was an act because I heard her say during a break that she was leaving for vacation soon and wasn't finished packing, so she was going to say whatever she needed to to get out of serving.) Yes, it was an inconvenience to drop everything to come downtown for the day for all of us. No doubt, most all of us had plans to do something else with that day had we not been called.
However, I can't help but think, if I were charged with something (whether I felt I was guilty or not) which could end with a jail sentence, I certainly would appreciate a jury of my peers serving who did not attempt to squirm, lie, and struggle to "get out of" listening to my case, but were willing to listen impartially. I would do the same for them.

It's beautiful, if I do say so myself. The picture doesn't even show how truly beautiful it is. If I could fit ya all in our little house, I'd have you all over to see it and have some coffee or tea. Something this pretty is even better when it's shared with friends.

Ever met a CO's wife who was healthy and happy?
by Nellie ini just read another topic about cos and it got me thinking .
almost every single co's wife was sick and terribly unhappy.
i remember listening to them complain about not having a home, not having children, the accomodations of the friends, etc.

Whoa Nellie! You're not, by chance, a former CO's wife, are you? Because when you asked that, I thought of a CO's wife who was named Nellie, who had a lot of major food allergies and so on.

Noachide
OK, this is a new dub term to me. But oh my god, it just reminded me of a word that used to induce an involuntary roll of the eyes whenever I heard it: Noacheic (spelling?) pronounced No AKEY Ick. Barf!!! Where did they come up with this crap?

How awful for you. I can just imagine how humiliating that would be. This kind of treatment is not loving, kind, or helpful; as I said, it's humiliating and extremely hurtful. What are your plans? Must you continue to go to all the meetings? Do you want to? I'm sure you're doing a lot of this for your wife, which is commendable. How does she really feel about your being shunned? We feel for you.

did you listen to the kingdom songs on CD?
by dobbie injust wondering if anyone else had the collection of kingdom melodies on tape or cd and if you ever listened to them?i ordered the whole set of 9 cds 2 yrs ago and donated over 100.00 for them!
!was just thinking i could have bought a nice winter coat with that!i used to play them at home all the time, even in the car or when we had the group meeting at our house.i used to love one particular song cos it had a full orchestra and would play it over and over again.some of them were pretty cheesy though - one song was sung in opera style but not the words she she 'ahd' it all the way through - horrible!was anyone else as sad as me and did you actually pay for them?i regret it now cos they're all in the attic and can't bear to use them ever again..

probably be my last.and:
I will be around to post from time to time, and I will remain in
contact with the board, but the articles will cease to exist. What gives? (Just wondering, not criticizing)
