The JW phrase I most despise is...

"need greaters" ugh!!

i hate that phrase and i always have.

we knew a jw couple who applied every year to bethel and giliad until the age cut-off (age 35 or 40?).

i know there's already a huge thread about thread killing.

however, since i seem to have perfected this skill while still in newbiehood, i thought i would just check.

if i smell and no one wants to be near me, just say so.

2 weeks and still no response to DA letter

ok-so, my husband, little drummer boy, and i mailed our da letter 2 weeks ago.

we also sent one other letter to an older woman who was always very kind to us, explaining that we still care for her and to let her know she did nothing to "stumble" us (we knew she would worry about that).

i didn't expect the woman to respond, as she would never "disobey" the organization to contact us.

little drummer boy and i met joy tonight and bought her book "the truth book".

we were there towards the end of it.

Our first weekend as official ex-JWs

tomorrow, my husband and i will be attending joy castro's book signing.

sunday, our 8 year old son gets to attend a birthday party for the first time (his cousin's).

i'm so glad we got out before our son got much older.

i would like to hear some more experiences from those who da'd themselves regarding the immediate "aftermath" (specifically with the elders).

neither my husband nor i have any jw family.

we have finally written, sealed, and stamped our da letter, and it's ready to go directly to the post office.
