Um, okay!
So like, I'm sorry, for like, all the stuff we did that's like, eating at you and ticking you off and um...stuff. Uh...yeah, that's it.
well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.
but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.
it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.

personally, it upsets me very much.
or are there any other parents that found better, alternative ways of getting young children 'trained'?.
i am not anti -smacking by the way,(except at the kh) but it is always the very last resort.. latte
Personally, I don't think it's a good idea, at least in the KH. Most 'rents in my hall were pretty good about whaking the kids. They kinda had a 3 stage contingency:
1. Tell them quietly to stop.
2. Take them in the back, and tell them again.
3. Take them outside, and have at it.
When I was a child, my parents would just wait until we got home. I'm glad we all got to keep our dignity. I wish other parents would keep that in mind.
i am currently df'd but seriously considering returning to the meetings with a view to reinstatement.
i am looking for honest, open minded discussion.
if i offend you all by being here, please let me know and i wont come back again.. thanks for reading this!
just curious DF, will you be coming back here after youre reinstated, would we be good enough to talk to then?
Since I was never df'd or da'd myself, does that mean that you were never good enough for me to talk to? Just kidding.

Um, I can't think of anything.hehe But I'm definitely not going back!!
Waitaminit, I haven't left.
this discussion will be quite extensive.
so, i have broken it up in to subtopics.
it will be shared by myself and associates in the faith.
Ummm, Jesus didn't have a second coming in the 1st century, did he? Is this some sort of trick question? Are you saying that maybe after he ascended to heaven while in Jerusalem, he came back down somewhere in Central America to teach the Mayans and Incas, like the Mormons believe?
I'm just confused by the subject title, that's all.
i have been having discussion with my sister (relative), who is an active witness, about writing a letter of disassociation.
the reason being is that i have not attended the meetings in over a year and it's been 4 years since i have went out in the jw ministry.. i going to try to sum this topic up.
my sister think that i should not da myself because i have not done any immoral act in her thinking.
Sorry Thinker's Wife, that kinda stumped me. I wasn't saying that the GB writes all the literature. I knew about the writing committees and all, since they were featured in the first video. It even shows the brothers picking a cover for one of the magazines out of several photos that were taken.
What I was saying was just that the GB makes the Bible-based guidelines, not the part of the WTB&TS that prints literature and all the other stuff I said before(yadda, yadda). The WTB&TS sends the guidelines from the GB to us.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot: It's cool to be here too.

JT, sorry for the misunderstanding. Like I said before, the WTB&TS is the part of the organization that provides the literature, yadda, yadda, like I said before. They don't make the rules, per se. That's up to the GB, who use Bible principles to derive them.
Oh yeah, Larc, I almost forgot your question. I'm almost a junior at the University of Houston in er...Houston. Since I'm not a junior yet, I can't declare a major, however I have decided on CIS(computer information systems).

Well, I don't really know when to disassociate oneself from the org, but a friend of mine(of 13 years) did it last January when she found a guy she liked at school. She had just aux. pioneered the month before, but she was sure it was the thing she wanted to do, so she sent her letter in.
Before the announcement was even made at the kh, she had moved in with the guy and his family, and her own family didn't shun her at all. Her dad(an elder on the Regional Building Committee) even bought her a car while she was gone. Some of her friends from the hall tried to talk to her at school, since they saw her every day. I never saw her(I had already graduated from high school), but I told the others to pass along a message if they managed to talk to her.
However, she's making steps to come back now. She was at the assembly last month, and brought her boyfriend too. I was an attendant, and I saw her from far off in the hallway. Even though we both knew we couldn't necessarily talk to each other(she wasn't reassociated yet), I still gave her a big smile and wave, and she smiled back. I wanted her to know that I missed her.
Okay, my boring story is over. You can wake up now.
That's what being part of Jehovah's organization is about. It's not just the WTB&TS, but the entire association of brothers and sisters worldwide. All the WTB&TS does is print literature, provide finances for traveling overseers, and provide disaster relief for those in need. You can bet they'll be in El Salvador and Guatemala soon.
i'm wondering if you still attend meetings?
do you hold out hope for the watchtower organization?
if you've left entirely, have you found another form of worship?
The last one I went to was last night. I had the #1 talk.
