There was also a group of Apocalyptic Jews who believed in an earthly resurrection, just like the Society.

This year's article is geared to elders contacting the fader not the relatives themselves. The relatives are to tell the elders where the inactives are hiding living. So I think they want to find out where they are and what they are doing.

even though it's really just a singing competition, the words and intent of the show in making someone into an american idol/aka celebrity go against the grain of everything jw.
i think this is something that should be brought up at the meetings in order to keep worldliness out of the congregations.
Hey...I say - you want the numbers to roll backward, start forcing them to give up the last few joys in life. No more American Idol. No more game shows. No more sports. No video games. No internet. .....All that's left to enjoy is food. Pretty soon all the young ones will rebel until no more baptisms. Pretty soon the older guys who are forced to give up their football will fold. Every household handing over their video games will see dire consequences I'm sure. As for the internet - not too many people I know in this day and age can go without the internet - so that will be a problem. now a lady is bugging me to date her i want to but, i am so screwed up right now from all the other girls i tried to persuit, and she has kids to boot which i am basicaly afraid of.

a few observations from (indirectly) talking to a couple of hlc members who have recently attended meetings with his in brooklyn:.
(1) any hope that the wts will further reform the blood policy is wide of the mark.
the wts is very happy & settled with the current situation (whole blood + 4 components = nono everything else ok).
(2) HIS feel that Jws have “been vindicated” by the stand on blood - HIV , CJD , hepatitis etc. They feel that the HLC / HIS / PVG program has been an outstanding success in “informing & educating” the healthcare profession. They feel the trend towards “No Blood” medicine is unstoppable and that blood transfusions as we know will be rapidly phased out over the next decade.
Funny the local Blood bank has commercials still looking for blood doners. And until they can make artifcial which will most likely still be animal blood they are just dead (sorry) wrong.
