i thought i would share something i remembered the other day.
hope it sheds a little light for you.. when you translate publications for the society, you often become aware of logic gaps.
Hi PP
Another anomoly which is quite strange.
Suppose a member of the writing desk in Germany for instance writes a WT article, he will probably start the original outline and theme in his mother tongue, say German.
He then writes the article in English, and sends to Brooklyn for approval, Everything comes back well, and the translators in the German branch then start to translate the article into German.
Because of the secrecy of the writers id, he cannot intervene if the translators in his own branch don't carry his original theme or outline. They often use other words that don't carry the same weight. Often the article is very far removed from the original.

soliloquiesdo they really help?
i find them very strange and false (in the convention setting).. plus how many people actually know what a solioquy actually is?.
i'm sure even less people have even heard the word outside a convention, unless they study shakespear..
Another expression is the word monologue....
To be honest I think most people talk to themselves outloud.......or is it just me
does anyone know if the chairman's introductions and announcements are completely scripted?
particularly with the use of adjectives and adverbs when introducing talks and speakers.. 'as we listen intentedly....'.
'we eagerly look forward to bro so and so's talk'.
Hi Doubting Bro
The procedure changed 3 years ago, there has been no manuscript talks for 3 years, but the outlines are much tighter now, there is no room to go off topic.
Also there is no longer any scrutinizing of talks, plus they only rehearse demos and interviews now
Hope you are ok bud
