If the WT dumped 1914 tommorow ...?

this is my first post here.

i've been a lurker for awhile but had no particular desire to join until the other day.. anyways, do you think that if wt decided to face the fact that 607-1914 is an indefensible pile of crap that has been artificially kept steaming for way too long, would it really kick off a mass exodus or anything?

in the short term the fds/gb might lose some authority, but they are hemorrhaging people anyways keeping it around (607 started me on the road to this place).. if wt stopped talking about 1914 for awhile then later killed it, blaming it on "further research" or something, and acknowledged some uncertainty in 607/587, i really doubt that very many of the r&f would think much about it.

So without any chronology connected here, 1914 still must begin the 'last generation' since it is the year WWI occurred.

Another bit of misinformation.

If one throughly studies world history back to lets say 2000 years, the world was at war all throughout the varied human habitations,

during those two millenniums. The only difference with WW1 was the number of people involved due to population growth.

Since most religionists aren't well studied in human history, its not surprising that they would over look this bit of factual information.

im assuming we all realise the gb may be many things but the individuals are not fools.

given the changes in ideas, formulation of new light and so on, do they buy the fascade they are presenting ?

if theres anyone in there, surely they as men, know how very man made it has always been.

What I was relating to is their living expenses, the WTS will provide all of their needs until they die.

They don't even have to pay for a cemetery plot.

Its easy to see that 1914 is anchored in lot of the WTS doctrines, remove this date or year and much of the proceeding theology falls over on itself.

Is the 1935 doctrine going to collapse as well ?

What spin will the WTS. make is only known to them.

The future GB have the inevitable task of smoothing out the organization's past theological bullshit.

There is unfortunately too little in the way of guidance and encouragement for people wanting to leave this particular religion.

Something some us long time OUT people regrettably forget about.

There much said about whats wrong with religion in how it operates and effects people but there's really little

talk or discussion for people trying to escape the mental entanglements that this region imposes onto people and what they should do.

Unfortunately for some they fail to find a healthy and wholesome direction for themselves upon leaving and they find themselves

right back at the Kingdom Hall.

There is a great need for people who are trying to escape religious cults like the JWS as a self help resource they can refer to.

This web site helps a little to be realized but I'm sure there's more that people need, particularly on a social personal level .

Believe me, if 1914 gets in the way from them believing they have and are the true religion (which is all they really care about), you get bet your booty that they will toss it out without so much as a "thank you" or "good-bye"!

Totally agree with that.

Being that JWs are so much mentally controlled and this is been mentioned before, they will appreciatively take in this change of light

from their spiritual connection at the HQ of the Watchtower Corporation.

Isn't that part of the reason the WTS. instructs its followers to watch out for dissenters and for people thinking out of the box ?

Since the calculable dating process the WTS. used to arrive at this year (1914) has no solid scriptural basis, like all of the other previous

calculable dates ( Prophecies) the organization has come up with, irregardless of what year ancient Jerusalem was destroyed.

Pin pointing out ANY dates/year is going beyond what is written and unscriptural in accordance with the bible.

Lets face it though putting dates on the front cover of magazines does alot toward drawing up public attention and that

is what the GB or past writers are intensionally trying to do, if the "Truth" be told.

The only GB member or President I ever met was Nathan Knorr after a Sunday talk at a district assembly.

He drew attention from people like he was a president of a country.

There were more handshakes and smiles coming toward him like he was Christ himself.

Today the GB have a position of respect and admiration from all JWs who are closely in contact with them.

No they may not live the high austere life of a rich upper class executive but you can expect they get preferential treatment wherever they go.

Not to mention there's no worrying about a retirement fund , the WTS. if their retirement fund.

The biggest problem the WTS. faces is that the organization has held onto 1914 for so long, they've got their feet stuck in a pool

of proverbial quick sand. But lets face it, when men have within their hands full of an enormous amount of power and wealth they

are more than likely to try to hold onto it at any extraneous costs.

You might expect they will drop this doctrine and place it on the old light shelf as time passes beyond 2014.

How many generations have to pass starting from 1914 before it becomes an obvious pretentious hoax ? (bullshit lie)

The WTS. has been quite proficient in situating that carrot in front of people's noses for a long time now.

The soon and close propaganda has been utilized for decades to keep people faithfully devoted to the organization.

My personal opinion is that they will drop 1914 all together eventually and just ride on the signs of the End Times and we are the chosen

organization preaching the good news.

The light just keeps on getting brighter through the pouring out of god's

anointed spirit upon his earthy arrangement as we get closer to the end .....

One other point worth mentioning, is people who have been long time faithful followers of this organization intensionally block out any notion thats its all

an orchestrated and pretentious fraud. That would be too hurtful and befalling of their own personal identity built around themselves.

The organization itself has indoctrinated people to think in such away is letting Satan infiltrate their minds with evil opposition against the "Truth".

They've even gone as far as calling these people the evil slave class, to heighten the element of fear, an impressionable form of mind control.

Many of these mental aspects are ingrained in to all JWS including the GB members and to some extent even more so.

What would be a "sin against the holy spirit" for an ordinary thinking JW - is a "manifestation of the new light" for the governing body.
