While I don't worship at the altar of JanH I do respect his opinions especially in regards to the blood issue and watchtower.
me too....i never said the guy didnt have anything to offer. his vast knowledge of scotch is a plus as well. just because hes a bigot doesnt neccesarily mean hes never worth listening to.

well, theres the obvious answer for many: its unbiblical.......so that immediately turns up all the christian noses, and its labeled "disgusting", "immoral", etc. as far as the rest of the crowd, meaning everyone whos not strictly stuck to following the bible, im not sure why its such a big deal. if all parties are willing, comfortable, and no one gets hurt (theres the key), i say go for it.....indulge. obviously talking about it and doing it can be two different things though, and many once involved find out it wasnt what it was cracked up to be when jealousy creeps in.

I thought his sarcasm was funny, and not offensive. I guess offensiveness is in the eye of the beholder.
it wasnt offensive to me personally either (yk has to be taken with a grain of salt at all times).......but i imagine it could be extremely offensive to the actual victims, given that hes outright mocked the abused children here.

i, believe it or not, completely understand your point about the possibility that some people may simply jump on the bill bowen bandwagon because of their hatred for the wt. i understand your point, but mocking his movement on a public forum, where many of the victims regularly read and participate, is just cruel. whether or not you believe bill is sincere in his work, the fact remains that he has helped many, and continues to fight for the victims. the wt and its policies are the reason many of these children have been victimized, and you yourself have admitted as much, so its natural for this fight to be against the wt, in order to educate people of the dangers of the cult mentality.....the danger their children may be in. this fight poses an obvious problem for you, as you seek to defend your precious wt.....but in the meantime, mocking the work he has done, and the help he has given and continues to give, is just hurtful to the real victims. "battered sheep figurines"? come on man, those are abused children you are mocking......have a heart, and continue your crusade in another manner.

i hate to see people get banned or silenced - even the people who are causing trouble.
when it comes to regulations, i could almost be described as libertarian.
because of this i would like to make a proposal - instead of leaving the banning power in the hands of a central authority, i propose that banning be placed in the hands of the individual.

hey, no problem....i assumed i wasnt the only one who has noticed his infantile tactics. oh, and speaking of infantile, i now have another characteristic to add to the list of yk/jan similarities......the infamous ignore when you run out of rebuttals. to my dismay, i recieved a plonk from jan yesterday......you can imagine how heartbroken i was. i was even more disturbed when i recieved an email from him explaining what the plonk meant (that i am "hereby ignored"), and that i should "save myself the effort of writing back".........oh the agony. (actually i did know what the plonk meant, as ive witnessed him pulling that stunt and running out of past arguments with others). its sad really.....i will genuinely miss these rational discussions with jan......they are always so constructive (like beating your head against a brick wall is constructive)......yes they will be missed.

(ps.....i forgot to add that yk sometimes uses the ingore function simply because he doesnt want to engage in a discussion with someone who continually uses an excessive amount of profanity, which is understandable.)
help needed for the silentlambs organization
due to the increasing workload associated with silentlambs i am requesting assistance to help with certain aspects of the organization.

i understand what youre saying, and i agree with you 100%. i have no problem with jan talking bad about our governments policies....i dont agree with all of our policies, so why should he, or anyone else for that matter? what i do have a problem with, is jan lumping all americans into one group, and saying that none of us give a shit about any life on this planet save american lives. that was the statement that let me know his true feelings about americans as people, not a government. the rest of that thread is really meaningless.....there are two sides to every debate about the u.s. government, and theres nothing wrong with having either point of view, whether i agree with you or not.

Actually isn't you name Dubla a slight toward the name of Jehovah's Witnesses? I believe JWs would find your slighting their name to be bigoted and very offensive.
