  Canadians: what do you think of them ?

  just wondering, all you non-canucks(canadians) on this forum.

  what do you think of canada, and canadians?

  be honest, good or bad or in between, it'd be neat to read what impression non-canadians have of us canuckastanis (thanks pat buchanan).

  canadians are awesome in general.....some need to get over the whole "all yanks are stupid" syndrome, but i suppose that goes both ways for whatever reason.

  Do Canadiens have any tipping guides in Canada? I mean its customary to tip more then 50 cents for a 20 to 30 dollar meal but not for the canadiens!! nooooooo they leave pennies! cheap bastaaaaaaaaaards!!!!!!!

  there is a valid reason for this, and its not because they are simply "cheap bastards". the reason ive discovered, since ive been dating a canadian for the last 2 years, is that the wait staff in canada (waitresses, waiters, bartenders) gets compensated much better than the wait staff here. whereas a waitress in the states may only get $2 an hour, and live off of tips, a waitress in canada will get minimum wage at the very least, and many times they get paid much more than that. they think we over tip, for this same reason.....my girlfriend was shocked the first couple of times she saw me leaving a tip in canada.

  . They can't afford incredibly expensive missions

  im not for discontinuing our space program, at all, but i do find it crazy that $300 million + for a 16 day mission is considered cheap.

  i thought it would be interesting to get a cross-sectional view of your opinions on whether all drugs (lsd, heroin, cocaine, etc.

  be legalized so that they then became freely available to the general population, in the same way that alcohol and tobacco are .

  this statement assumes that the number of "drugged up addicts" would increase exponentially with the legalization of drugs, which simply isnt true. if someone wants to get their hands on drugs, they will (and do), legal or not.

  Marijuana, for instance, is no more dangerous than alcohol. What is dangerous is the money and energy put into keeping this drug "illegal", as well as the lives lost in gang wars over territory, etc.

  And WTF kind of person is BEHIND removing taxes on stocks DIVIDENDS?!?! This is so unreal, it isn't even funny.

  well, me for one, and probably the majority if not all of my clients. you seem to be under the delusion that all dividend yielding stock owners are rich, which couldnt be farther from the truth. will removing the dividend tax help the rich? sure it will. will it help the middle class american, who has a $30,000 ira stock portfolio? absolutely. you dont have to be rich to own stocks, and the majority of my clients are far from rich....but they could sure use the dividend tax cut. not to mention it would have an overall beneficial affect on the market, which would also help the middle class americans 401k.

  it is just stunning and amazing that the united nations weapons inspectors have uncovered evidence that proves saddam hussein is trying to develop an arsenal of nuclear weapons, and no one in the american media cares.

  i said it was ridiculous....not that ive never watched it . entertainment value is definitely what drives the reality tv market. some of them i tune into just because they are so incredibly stupid....one being the wb show with all the washed up celebrities living in a house together. they are funny because they are so completely preposterous.........i have a hard time watching joe millionaire though, ive only caught pieces of a couple of them.......just the idea that this guy is supposedly picking a mate, trying to determine sincerity, etc, all the while lying to them at every turn, is a bit too dumb for me.

  We are part of the world community, a nuke or a biological or chemical attack (which he has already tried on his OWN people) can and will affect the rest of the world.
