hopefully this topic won't shock anyone, i'll try to keep my comments as tasteful as possible.
just recently (last weekend) my younger brother met with the elders because he was engaged in fornication.
the elders decided to disfellowship him even though he had long stopped having any contact with the person he had been involved with.

perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.
as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

probably a safe bet.....just be ready for some bumps in the road for that year. techs arent out of the woods yet, and this one, even though its a rock solid company, still doesnt have positive earnings. it should by next year; theyre reportedly planning several acquisitions before year end, and these usually hurt short term numbers.
I got a bunch of Cisco(csco) I bought at around $10 a share should I hang tight?
depends on what youre looking for dwilt. short term pop, or longer term growth? some great news out on csco yesterday that is pushing the stock much higher right now. if it closes above 14.59 today, it looks to have a great chance to run to 16, maybe even 18. youve already got a 50% gain in it though, and the hardest thing to do when your stock is rising is to sell it and capture that gain......if you want a short term pop, id sell it between its current price and 18. if youre willing to wait longer term, this one should be a $25+ stock again, but probably not until the economy comes around.

You jump on me yet you pass by offensiveness of the Kent's of the world......try being consistent at least.
kent is very offensive, i wont deny that. but i dont think ive ever had a problem with, or "jumped on", anyone being offensive. (i guess im not easily offended). what i do post on from time to time though, is someones obvious failure to formulate a "good comeback". i find it amusing when a person, like yourself, disregards rock solid arguments, simply ignoring them for lack of an intelligent response. for this, i have been extremely consistent. if youve seen my posts before, i have "jumped on" many for this same reason, including nytel, yk, cross, etc. not to say that is my primary objective on this forum, but when i get a chuckle out of someones transparent ignorance, like i did in this case, then i usually at least post a quick quip.

i guess i've been inspired by stephen's quote threads, so i'm going to start one myself.. not one particular author here, just whatever i can find:.
q: why do you think that people are so protective of their egos?
why is it so hard to let go of one's ego?.
"you are not your job. youre not how much money you have in the bank. youre not the car you drive. youre not the contents of your wallet..... youre not your fuckin' khakis. you are the all singing, all dancing, crap of the world."

novell looks to have a little resistance around 4 dollars. if it can close above 4, it should run to 5 without much trouble. after that, theres major resistance from 5.50-5.70......i would think that area would be an ideal place to unload it. not that youre looking for advice on it, but i thought id check it out since you were sharing with us.

on september 24th, i informed you that the market was extremely oversold, -17 to be exact, which was its most severe oversold level since 1987. you responded....
"OVERSOLD" is a term the brokers and analysts use anytime the stock market dips. You are merely parroting the standard line used by the hucksters who are always eager to persuade people not to sell.remember? i then said that you were humiliating yourself by this statement, and i pointed out that "oversold" was actually a technical term thats used to identify and predict dips and rallies. you thought this was preposterous. you responded again......
How have I been humiliated? If the markets crash tomorrow after you pronounced them to be technically "oversold" would that mean that your science failed?well, i guess the science didnt fail this time yk, youll have to wait for next time. no panic buying going on, just the normal rapid increase which almost ALWAYS follows a severly oversold market; again, just its cyclical nature. FYI, the day i deemed the market oversold, the dow had a low of 8242.32. todays high so far was 9074.31. in case your calculator is broken, thats an increase of 831.99 pts., or just over 10%. not a bad increase off of an oversold market, but it was predictable. the oversold levels are back to normal now, so i wouldnt guess that wed see too many more 300-400 pt. one-day gains for awhile, but anything can happen. in fact, a re-test of the september lows would actually be the best thing for the market from a technical standpoint, but you have no understanding of technical analysis, so i wont bore you with details. im not expecting a response at all from you on this one, really, what could you say to it? i just had to gloat a little. much more gloating to come when we reach november.

last year i retrieved my star wars collection from my dad's house.
i was a star wars freak since i was 6 years old and i first saw the film.
many of the origional old figures were missing and i wondered if they had just been lost over the years.
well, g.i.joes were definitely out, and they were the better guys at the time; had moving knees and arms, and all kinds of cool guns. so i was relegated to star wars guys as well. no mention of them ever being demonized, but i did have to throw out the guns just like slip (and i too was able to keep the light sabers....wierd). i had a HUGE collection of star wars....all the guys, all the ships, everything. unfortunately for me, i sold most of em in a garage sale years ago, before they became the collectors items they are today. im still sick about it.

Why spend hours answering arguments that I've answered before just to amuse you? I suspect that it would not change your take on who is right...
first off, i could care less if you answer arguments or not, answering them wont amuse me. when i asked you to answer the questions posed, i didnt actually expect a response. that in itself does amuse me: your lack of ability to respond to any intelligent questions. as far as my take on who is right, i am on neither side, its just that your ignorance was so transparent, i felt compelled to post on it.
It's really amusing and predictable to see the same superlatives used over and over again whenever one of the atheist champs bother to post.
well, im not sure what "superlative" i used, but i can tell you that i am not an atheist.
