I called.....expecting nothing.....and got just that! She actually said.."I am out in service (with the exciting new tract, no doubt) and I will have to get back to you" Boy, they really do keep the dubs too busy to realize what is really going on in their own life. BTW....she has seen pics and saw her in person once, when she told me I need to go back to Jah....and when I said I wouldn't be going back, she gave me and the baby up....and told me so.

Going to another congregation and making believe to be a good JW
by JH indid you ever think of attending a meeting at another hall far away, where no one knows you, and where you could pass for a very spiritual jw...although you,re df'd... hehe.
something maybe you'd like to do just once, just to see how things are these days at the meetings.. and maybe at the end of the meeting after making 10 comments, tell everyone, you're disfellowshipped !!!!

3 years ago I went to the memorial with 2 df'd friends. It was held in a school auditorium. I didn't know how it would make me feel, since at that time I wasn't sure it wasn't The Truth...Well, I walked in and saw all the DUBS shaking hands, with fake smiles..."welcome sister..."the cheesy clothes and I started cracking up so hard I had to go to the nearest doors and walk out! I don't think I am that good at faking anymore!

New Campaign: "The End of False Religion Is Near" and the Tribulation
by Mikeus inyesterday my wife (an inactive-but-not-yet-df'd jw) and i went over to visit her parent's house (still very active jws), and my mother-in-law handed my wife a flyer entitled 'the end of false religion is near' with a nice evil-destroying lightning bolt pictured on the front.
she whispered to my wife that this was a new campaign and was not supposed to be handed out until next month, but was "very excited, because this is supposed to bring about the tribulation".. they may be right.
inside the two pages they call catholics condoning child molesting (ironic), non-jws blood thirsty war mongers, and how people involved in politics are under mind control (again, ironic), among other things.

Welcome to the forum Mikus.....You might want to look into the threads and see that this is old news here! It is kindof funny to see that many ex-JW's know more about what is going on in the org than those that are in it. They did really hype this tract up though....telling them "persecution" can be expected due to this tract...but really it is the same ol' same ol'.

I need some help with this......

I have an 8 yr old too. She lives with her JW dad and step-mom. I am having a hard time knowing what to say to her also, I can't really go to into things with her yet, but I am trying to plant little seeds that will hopefully pave the way for some big conversations when she is older. One thing I wish I could do with her now though is get out the Bible story book, or the new book for kids and go to the page depicting Armegeddon. It is a horrific scene. Then I would ask her "do you think Jehovah would kill all these people.....people like (name people you know who aren't JW's)?" Then say "well....I didn't think so either. Tell her you found that the bible teaches something different than what the JW's were teaching.....and that you believe the bible over what some religion teaches. John 3:16 says EVERYONE who believes in him will not perish....I think that may help get her thinking in a different direction.
On a side note, when I was in therapy, I told my therapist that I wasn't sure what all to tell my daughter at only 8 years old, and she said it is the perfect time to be really straight up with them. So explain what you have learned about the organization and let her know that even though there are lots of people you love in the org still....you can't belong to a group that lies, and you can pary with her to help the people you love find their way out too.

I was hinking of saying..."Ok mom, It is time for you to look into your religion and find out the facts....so you don't regret giving up your grandkids, and misleading those that listen to you." Would it work? I feel SO HELPLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confessions to Elders
by megsmomma ini was reading the masterbation thread and it reminded me of my experience....it is sooo embarrasing!
when i was 13, my jw friend and i dicussed this topic.
we both admitted that we had the "m" problem...and we tried to help eachother with it by checking up on eachother...."hi....how are you doing with your "m" problem?.......not so good....did it last night....me too....." so we decided we needed to talk to the elders about it and on a thurday night we both asked to meet with them.

Wow...I guess since Jehovah didn't turn out to be real.....and the way the JW's taught us to follow the Bible was so off, so many just gave up on the whole concept. I didn't want to believe or think about it for a long time, but then I researched and realized that I do believe in both. The part of the Bible that I think matters most is what Jesus taught. It is not about rules and punishment, but about Personal relationships and Love....much more refreshing!

We wet into the back room and confessed to 2 elders who were very embarrased and just told us to pray about it...which we had done and it didn't work! It is so funny(sad) how much guilt the Borg puts on kids for being NORMAL!
