So i goes to the local bar last night...
by bluesbreaker59 insorry for the thorogood reference, had to.... anyway, last night i went to dinner with a buddy of mine at the local bar and grill, and told him that he probably shouldn't be seen in public with me, for fear of him being df'd.
he said he didn't care, that we've always been friends and always will be.
he has faded for the last year, and hasn't turned in a time slip, or given a talk in over a year, and hasn't been to a meeting in 8 months.

What a difference a year makes.
by Billzfan23 inlast year on this date... i was burned out as an elder, school overseer, book study overseer, etc... my monday nights were shepherding calls, phone calls, judicial committe meetings.
tuesday nights i conducted the theocratic ministry school and usually had a service meeting part.
wednesday nights i had a bible study with a family from the territory.

I don't know why I never picked up the tobacco habit...

the wts had not yet made smoking a df'ing offense.
we were always poor and dad didn't spend money on ready made cigarettes.

I wish I never started...but I did when I da'd and felt I was good as dead anyhow. I quit during my pregnancy ....but then I started again because my hubby smokes and when I wasn't and he was...I would get soooooo mad at him for not quitting, and sneaking smokes, and tempting me...so I couldn't beat him, I joined him. We are about to try quitting AGAIN.

Confused!! Help!!
by BigBloomerz inok so here goes...ive fallen for a guy, who seems perfect for me, everything ive ever wanted in a man, kind, sensitive, caring and reliable.
only problem is, he is not a jw and i sort of am, sort of meaning, i was brought up in the truth i have gone through rebelious stages and just passed them off as wanting to experience, i nearly married a jw but the night before the wedding he called it off and said he wasnt ready (we had sleot with each other beforehand, so he prob didnt see the point in going ahead anymore!
got what he had wanted!

You are taking a big step into freedom!! I think you will really enjoy not having to worry about having a "religion" ruling your life anymore...and you will be able to figure out what YOU believe!! YAY!
If I could do it all over again....I think I would write to my family and friends to explain why I was leaving...But, then again, back then I didn't know myself...so, maybe you could just do what many here have done, and fade from it.
Anyhow....stick around, there will be lots to think about and people here understand a-lot of what you are going through!

YAY!!!! I got my finals back from my financial class!!
by FreedomFrog inand i passed with a b!!!!!
most of my grades have been above a b but with this class even my friend told me (who is a number cruncher), they gave us an unfair advantage because they threw in all kinds of variables that was a bit too advanced for a person starting out.
the college is going to change this because they realize it is a bit much for "beginners" but we weren't so "lucky" to have it changed for us.
