after i wrote my parents a 10-page letter going into detail about all of the problems with the watchtower, along with documented evidence of false prophecies/predictions, flip-flops in doctrine, as well as many good reasoning points, she put up some very strong defenses over the phone.

at first she said that she read the letter.

then when we got on a topic that was covered in the letter, and i could see that she didn't comprehend the point that i was making, i would ask her, "are you sure you read the letter?

What you experienced is proof of the mental control the JW's are under. Their brains are conditioned in the way that they cannot accept or acknowledge anything contrary to what has been deeply ingrained in their minds. When I went to my mom with info I had found...thinking she would be amazed like I was about it all....she had a similar reaction...and screamed at me too.

I wish I had advise on something you could do to help them....but, I do not know of one. Sorry. I hate this religion.

one of my classics was because the bethel printing room was so clean then it must be jehovah's organization.. now i realize, of course, that most businesses keep their operations equally clean.. doh!.

exiting the watchtower

hi im new to this forum and am currently trying to exite the watchtower.for the past 12 months or more i have stopped going on the ministry.in august last year i stopped going to the meetings but depression kicked in and other symptoms and i returned to the meetings in april.i stopped going to the meetings again in july and did more research to see if this is a cult.but im having all sorts of symptoms.confusion of whats right and wrong, panic attacks when i go out, one minute i hate the watchtower the next i wonder whether this is the truth and wonder if ive been mislead by satan.i dont know who to trust and where to go from here.and none of my family was ever in the watchtower so i think they know somethings going on but they can,t understand what im going through.ive been in the watchtower since 1999 off and on, i finally got baptized in 2005 after what i thought was carefull examination of the truth.and whats worse is the elder i studied with when i came into the " truth" lives right next door to me with his wife, which plays all sorts of guilt trips on me and paranoia.

Welcome Jace!

I had those flip-flop feelings for years after I da'd myself. I finally really did some research to discover that there was no way the Society could be directed by God as the only true religion. Now, I am on the path of accepting I don't have all the answers and figuring out what I do believe. It is a journey, and uncomfprtable at times....but, way better than swallowing lies.

Keep on your path and keep researching to de-brainwash yourself!!

Nutra -System ? Jenny Craig? Weight Watchers?????

ok i seriously need to drop this baby weight.

has anyone had good results from any of the three weight loss companies listed in my subject title?

i was thinking nutra -system but wondered how the food was.

I tried WW...It was working, then we moved and I went off and it's not working now...LOL! I am going to go back on it though. If you have time to go to a meeting a week and do well with having accountability, it is a good program. I liked seeing others at the meeting that were successful...and feeling like we were all in the same boat....having to avoid temptations, ect. They would give good ideas about what to eat and how to keep on track. They focus a-lot on portion control...so you can eat everything anyone else eats if it is "worth it" to you.
