Hehehe, I was just thinking about this as I was watching a cartoon with my daughter. I used to think.."WHY would anyone EVER want to watch a show with "real people" in it????"...cartoons were the bomb! Now, I like to watch the "real people"...lol.

Suggestions needed?
by jc1985 in.
well ive been raised in the truth for 20 years, and serve as an ms, but have overtime realized that its not actually the "truth".. any thoughts on how to best let it be known that im not interested in being a witness, and once thats accomplished how to assimilate myself into.
the "world", since ive been shut off from it for my whole life and programmed to believe every non witness is only interested in hurting others.. any thoughts would be helpful.

Get out there and experiece it. Don't pre-judge people, don't trust people till you know them well. Keep true to yourself. And welcome!

Name Things You Wanted To Do As A JW But Couldn't--- That You Do Now
by minimus inwhen you were a witness, there must've been things that you really wanted to but couldn't because you were not able to.
give us some examples, please..

Mostly "stupid" little things, like listen to music I like and read books I want to read. Of couse, I love having a X-mas tree...and celebrating birthdays of people I love. Also, sleeping in (as much as a baby lets me) on weekends.

Jehovah's Witnesses Have Lost Their Purpose In Life!
by minimus inthat's my conclusion.
they don't stand for anything anymore.
they used to be known as "bible students" but not anymore.

Sad, isn't it.
It's the one thing that keeps me from hating my mom though....she is just a sad, miserable cult follower.

I HAVE MADE A DECISION TO LEAVE
by Maddie ini haven't been on jwd for the last few days as my good friend had her mum die suddenly and i have been spending time just being there for my friend.. i was shocked and saddened to hear that trevor and linda was a sham.
it's sometimes hard not to become cynical with life and not trust anyone when this sort of thing happens.. i have made a big decision and i hope that i don't live to regret it.
i have posted that i have been trying to "fade" as my son and his family are jw's and i don't want to lose them because of being shunned.

Everyone has to do what is best for them. I hope it brings you peace, and gives your son strength.

Renee.....My own mom said she would have to stone me if we were living in the past.....I don't think people want to admitt it, I guess.

I think they wish they could go back to "Bible times" where we would be stoned. I think if it was OK to do it, and the cult promoted it, many would do it because it would show how "spiritual" they were and how they are willing to do something unpleasant to "prove" they are faithfull. (Like Abraham willing to kill his son) I think our family members would be the first in line to throw the stones too.

My Mum's gone
by shell69 ina few months ago i noticed that my mum had put her house up for sale, she doesn't live far from me and i had occasion to drive past her house.. well i've had a funny unsettled feeling all week, and i drove along the back of her house yesterday, and all the curtains were gone, she'd obviously left.
feeling brave i drove round the front, and yes its empty, doesnt look like she's been gone long.
i got out and went in the back garden, and looked through the windows.

That is WICKED! I am soooo sorry. What a crap thing to do. I thought when I read your title of the thread that she died, and I know it is like she really did. My mom shuns me too, and she has told my siblings how much she "loves" me still, yet, I DO NOT THINK SHE DOES. I always think of the song "More Than Words". If you never tell someone you love them, and don't even talk to them....You DO NOT love them. I am so sad for you!
