Let's Give AudeSapere a Great Big Hug
by FreeChick inas many of you know, audesapere (denise) had reconstructive knee surgery last wednesday.
the surgery ended up being quite a bit more involved then she originally anticipated.
she has approximately 5 more weeks walking with crutches and then i believe she will continue with physical therapy.. denise made it through the first several days post-op like a trooper!

in reading some of these stories (even after being out of the truth) for over 20 years...it still brings chills to my spine about how i was treated.

I have benefited in many ways....but, there are times it just brings up so many issues that it can really affect your mood. Untill I came here, I never really knew what the dubs taught.....As my eyes got more open to it al I was amazed at how I could have fallen for it.
I am glad you have someone that helps you. I found one too. My husband was never a JW, but, now he pretty much feels like he is an ex-j-dub! (He knows all the lingo..lol)

That sounds SCAREEEEEY!! I hate having demon dreams. I had one when I was younger. In my dream I was staying at a worldly friends house and the family had lots of cats. I called my momon their phone and she said..."I smell something..." (through the phone) And I was like "what do you smell? Do you smell the cats?" And she paused and then said (all creepy like) "I smell ghosts". That dream scared me to death!! LOL!

Why Some Stay In The Organization
by Outaservice indon't you think a lot of brother's stay with the watchtower because in the real world they would never be anybody so-to-speak.
they would never even attain their '15 minutes of fame' that many have.. but, at the hall, they get to get up in front of an audience, and people listen to them as if they really have something to say!
and they're given a 'title' such as elder, ministerial servant, microphone handler (wow) etc.

I think that is very true.
My mom seems to enjoy being the "poor sister" with an unbelieving mate.
My dad enjoys being the mate who everyone tries to convince to get baptised.(and tickles his ears)
My little unbaptised 21 year old sister enjoys being self-righteous around me....just cause she still believes it is the truth, and I do not.
There is something for everyone!! LOL

It takes a while to be able to "feel for" our family left in the cult and behaving bad because of it. I am glad you got to that point.....That was such a rough experience.
Welcome to the forum!!!!

I think the sign of needing help is putting a white "something" in your window. When I blew a tire on one very hot Texas day, I called my husband on my cell and while he was on his way, a male motorist stopped....and it scared me more than anything.
