Donations for literature I would spend at Mc Donald's!!! Sorry!!!
by Witness 007 inin my last 2 years in field service in australia tax laws meant we could no longer offer publications for money or directly ask for a donation.
if the householder asks, we would explain our voluntry work was paid for by donations.
i was suprised how many people would give you $10 or $20 dollars thinking it's going to some good cause....however, i would go and buy some lunch at mc donald's.

Sad day for motorcyclists
by startingover inevil knievel dead at 69. knievel died in clearwater, florida on november 30, 2007. he had been suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis for many years.
longtime friend billy rundel reported that knievel had trouble breathing while at his residence in clearwater, but died before the ambulance could reach the hospital.

SIGH... Mother troubles again...
by Elyse867 inso i opened up my laptop last night, to check my email and such, and my mom had obviously just checked hers... she was still logged on, which has never happened before.
i felt like i needed to look in her emails, which is not something i would normally do, as i hold privacy as something sacred.
as some of you know, my mom lives with my hubby, me, and my kids.

I am sorry she is like that. It seems that JW's are trained that don't need to have any respect or appreciation for anyone who isn't a JW. Vicious gossip doesn't exist when it is from a JW about a non-JW. I understand what you are dealing with because of my own mom. I just don't know what to say about it...it's just sad.

Be honest, Do you really Enjoy Christmas?
by BluesBrother indansk's christmas tree thread got me to thinking .. in this house we do not celebrate since my wife is still a die hard dub.
i have no complaints about that, it was our joint choice for decades and i an the one that changed .but as witnesses we were always given the negative view of the holiday time :-.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! But, when my mom decieded to become a dub, getting out of the holidays was a big plus for her. She never liked being "forced" to be loving and jolly....She always would talk about how her x-mas's were terrible because she never got what she wanted...blah blah blah. We don't have much money this year, and it's not about that...it is about warm cozy feelings and being with family.
