Edited because I was so mad I forgot what the h**l my point was...
well i promised myself i wasn't going to let my jw parents in on what the borganization is holding back from them but i did it today anyways... i couldn't stand one more minute of their "wonderful" religion and how terrific it all is so i said that i was watching the news (this forum is quite informative - could be called news :) ) and then told her the entire story about the un and the jw's involvement with it.... but of course she can't believe that and if it is true there must be a reason for it.
i said i couldn't think of any reason to be part of the "disgusting thing"....that was completely true i didn't tell her that the disgusting thing was the wtbts not the un... so anyways long and short of it is that she is going to have to wait and see if it is tru.
she is certain the watchtower will explain why very soon and if not it doesn't matter she knows that she is in the right organization.
On Randy's site he has a place, I don't remember where it is. "Letting go of JW relatives." As hard as it is when it's a parent, imagine how hard it is when it's your own child. But it can be done.

I told my son not too long ago that I attended the trial of Miguel (??) Beliz, and that I plan on attending some more of those. Talk all you want about doctrine doctrine doctrine and its useless....then throw a Laree Slack or a brothers Stovall at them, and WALK AWAY...that will make them think. The Society is really good at depersonalizing and mechanizing human beings. If you want to make some headway with hardcore JW's, put the HUMAN faces back on HUMAN beings. It really works!!!!

hi there everyone...i just had a very deep conversation with my gf.
it was very intense, but it changed somethings about how i was feeling.... she was being very negative, and so i confronted her on it.
she got mad at first, but we talked about a lot of issues that she has.
I had a mom like that (still do, just don't communicate with her much) and I went to Co-dependants anonymous (CODA) for a while. I found it very helpful to be with other people who have been through what I've been through and are trying to change. I did it for a year, but most people do it for a few months or a few weeks even, just to get the ball rolling.
It's hard to find time for meetings like this, but it's worth it. We really can't help other people if we don't understand ourselves very well. And people told me at mY meetings that they liked having me there and I was helpful---that's a nice bonus!!!

i'm truly amazed and had no idea unitil yesterday surfing on a whim i decided to confront my past.
it's a blessing for me and i feel another turning point in my life because now i have lots of people to talk to and i know now that i wasn't and i'm not going crazy and that it's not just me.

Furthermore, according to the Ministry of Defence, special measures are applied in favour of conscientious objectors as regards both the serving of a sentence and the place of detention (see chap. II, sect. A, "The Jehovah's Witnesses"). According to the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek State, despite the provisions of the Constitution relating to defence, has modified its stand by adopting a law providing for unarmed alternative service with certain privileges favouring conscientious objectors. Nevertheless, the conscientious objectors - in this instance, the Jehovah's Witnesses - have refused to wear uniforms, salute the flag or accept the period specified for performing alternative service. The Ministry of Defence claims that the Jehovah's Witnesses, by asking to be exempted from national service, were asking to receive treatment which would discriminate against other Greek citizens. The authorities maintain that the Jehovah's Witnesses must, as Greek citizens, respect the law in force and bear in mind the particular position of Greece, a small State that must protect its territorial integrity. According to the Ministry of Justice, the Jehovah's Witnesses are being prosecuted not for their beliefs but for having violated the law. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that the authorities were ready to make concessions provided they had no impact on national issues. The impact the Greek authorities seem to have in mind is any impairment of the obligation to perform national service and of the unity of the country.
39. According to the non-governmental representatives, it is necessary for the Greek State to adopt legislation recognizing the right to conscientious objection with respect to military service in order to put an end to infringements of the religious freedom of conscientious objectors, in particular Jehovah's Witnesses, and of their human rights in general within Greek society (see chap. II, sect. A, "The Jehovah's Witnesses"). The well-known Exemption of Ministers of Religion Act (Act No. 1763/1988) should also be fully applied (see chap. II, sect. A, "Protestant minority").
So what I've been thinking all along might to be true...the Watchtower ORDERS the JW's not ot do the alternative service that has been offered to them even tho publicly, in their literature, they say "okay do it".
Lying sacks of useless s**ts...and besides that, they may be falling back to their old tricks; when numbers and converts are down instigate persecution---that always works!!!!
