Summary of the elders' meeting tapes?

did anyone write down any notes on the content of the tapes?

i'm especially looking for comments they made regarding blood, treatment of dfed family members and apostates.

Oh, not confusing really. I guarantee you that between the despicable 'battered woman' policy, and the 'shunning minors' policy, watchtower was without a doubt bonbarded with letters and phone calls and other such things and have put this article out for public consumption.

If you count backwards from today, and you know Watchtower study article are put up about three months before they are sent out, the time sequence fits.

there has been some more progress on the united nations front and getting more evidence to you very nice people.. for your information i have located an ngo in toronto who houses a small library of quarterly reports that dpi sent to the various ngos.

this is my first time i have ever seen these and i will have them going back at least 10 plus years.

my previous ngo friends had offices in new york and thus, did not have these - nor was i aware i could get my hands on them.

i have recently had the misofortune of being involved in the revealing of a child molestation case.

my wife's niece recently came forward about being molested approximately 5 years ago by someone holding responsibilities in her congregation.

my in-laws found out the same day as we did.

J. R. Brown, the official spokesperson for the Chrsitian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, stated publicly that they DO conceal child molesters within the organization UNLESS THERE IS A LEGAL DUTY TO
REPORT. No one excpte the three elders will be told; not the congregation, the even the molester's wife.

What you think you've seen on the and other DB pales into insignificance I think when J. R. Brown is out there saying things like this publicly.

I get emails from him all the time. He and his wife seem very nice. They don't post much. I'm hoping to meet them later this year or early next year.

Sounds like he's asking you to expand your opinion of C of C.

Yeah, that's a valid point. In some states there are legal reporting requirements, and if the JW's follow those rules that's a good thing.

This is what silentlambs has been saying all along, thank you very much for backing up his claims. First they go to the elders, untrained clergy not equipped to handle something like this; then up to the watchtower legal, then back down to the elders, and finally, IF ITS A REPORTING STATE OR COUNTRY, to the police.

So you've just said what silentlambs has been saying all along, and I thank you for that. Next up...what about his status inthe congregation? Contact with other children? Will he be disfellowshipped at least as long as some rape and molestation survivors have been? Will he have a responsible position ever.

What's wrong with this quote?

a few weeks ago, j.r. brown, director of the office of public information of jehovahs witnesses was interviewed on ktar, a phoenix area radio station.

after listening to an audio tape of the interview given to me by a friend in the area, i thought some of you might find the following example of browns forthrightness interesting.

mcmahon: were looking at the jehovahs witnesses, uh with the help of its national spokesperson j. r. brown, ah, the jehovahs witness office, the director of offices--- the office of public information in brooklyn, new york and theres so many things to talk about particularly clearing up some areas of confusion, uh curiosity.

two things bother me.

1) First in support of an individual JW's personal stance (I don't give a rat's behind about the Watchtower's stance) many many times I have stood there, in a hospital, and seen patients told they need blood transufions and they are being absolutely and positively lied to. It's why I went into private duty, because I can't stand to see that or to be part of it. I wouldn't have kept my job very long any way. I have rarely seen blood given for life-saving reasons in and of itself. You hear about the massive blood loss and the chemotherapy patients, but that's nothing compared to all the blood I see doled out to patients; many of them are not even giving real 'informed consent.' Lee Elder said 'they' are trying to cut down on needless blood transfusions, and while there may be some who are publicly advocating this, I can tell you they have hardly scratched the surface in many places. Unfortunately, medical facilites are allowed to give blood transfusions as a form of 'defensive medicine; these transfusions have nothing to do with the wellfare of the patient. I know what I see.

2) The second thing that bothers me is the statemnt about "well, there are these bloodless procedures and surgeries and videos" and yadadada". Okay, What the hell good do these procedures, doctors, videos, etc do to some JW child in an emergency situation in friggin' AFGHANISTAN, SOUTH AFRICA, PERUVIAN MOUNTAINS or wherever else JW's decide to be. These things are useless to these people if they are not AVAILABLE!!!! Like in MOST parts of the WORLD where JW's are experiencing the GREATEST INCREASE!!!! HELLLOOOOO!!!! J. R. Brown consistently refuses to address this issue publicly.

And may I add my agreement to what the former posters have said.

Jonah, was he a false prophet?

i was reading this week the book of jonah and it got me thinking.

was he a false prophet?

he prophesied that jehovah would destroy nineveh and it did not come true.

okay, I'm big enough to admit I did jump down your cyber-throat.

I guess what upsets me the most is that the Watchtower makes the God I love and trust look like a complete bloodthirsty moron. "I am Jehovah, I am bi-polar' sort of thing. It infuriates me.

And I'm with silentlambs and Lee Elder on this one...why do JW's come here and discuss Jonah and all these other things when JW children are DYING...and I repeat D-Y-I-N-G. Kinda like 'Troubled' troll, you know...whining over things when children are DYING in this organization. These children need help and they need it now, but all JW'swant to talk about is how they are NOT false prophets and on and on and on. Who GIVES a rat's behind...

i was reading this week the book of jonah and it got me thinking.

it's not a personal attack, I don't know you. And I answered your sorry excuse for a valid point with valid Scriptural arguments.

And furthermore 'the city will be overthrown' doesn't mean that God was going to do it or had anything to do WITH it. It doesn't mean that anyone was going to die. And Jonah didn't say that God told him that.

You lied when you claimed that the 1934 yearbook quotes, when taken in context, would prove that certain claims would be invalid. You didn't count on Jehovah's Witnesses in good standing in the organization scrambling for their 1934 yearbooks and getting those scans up on the site and proving you oh-so-wrong. I think the Nazi collaberation claims were being a little over-generous to the Watchtower, myself.

The point I am making is that you need to read the Bible ITSELF, on your own, and have a little faith in your own intelligence and common sense. The God of the book of Jonah is not as bloodthirsty and vengeful as the Watchtower would have you believe. He certainly doesn't want rape and molestation survivors expelled and enforcedly shunned, nor minor children expelled and enforedly shunned in their own homes as the Watchtower AND YOU would have the world believe.

But I give you credit for sticking around, tho and answering back. Maybe there's hope for you yet.

Just becasue some group of old men in Brooklyn/New York/whereever says you can't read the Bible on your own doesn't make it so. Give yourself a break already.

Henry P is exposed as a blatant and flagrant liar AS USUAL. He says:

And you allegedly read this WHERE? For here is what the New World Translation actually READS:

Jonah 1:1 And the word of Jehovah bagan to occur to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying:

2: "Get up, go to Ninevah the great city, and proclaim against her that their badness has come up before me."

Jonah 3:1 Then the word of Jehovah occurred to Jonah the second time saying
2: "Get up, go to Ninevah the great city, and proclaim to her the proclamation that I am speaking to you."

Now mind you, the inhabitiants were worried that they might perish, but nowhere does the account state, at least in the New World Translation, that God was going to destroy them. In fact, the account goers on further to read that Jonah went and sat down to see what would happen to the city. Why would he do that if he knew the city was to be destroyed? Or not destroyed? Because God had not told him anything LIKE that.

In the bok of Matthew, Jesus is quoting the events concerning Jonah, and he also made no reference to God allegedly setting out to destroy Ninevah.

So again tell me, you read this WHERE?

teachings that the watchtower is currently holding that is wrong.. can you try to be objective?.

1)Failed prophecy.

2) Lying about failed prophecy beginning since at least 1921 in "the harp of God' book and continuing to this day.

3)Nazi collaberration

4)Lying about the Nazi collaberation

4)expulsion and enforced shunning of rape and molestation survivors

5)child baptism

6)expulsion and enforced shunning of children EVEN IN THEIR OWN HOMES.

7)Lying and covering up about 4), 5), and 6).

8)Collaberating with the United Nations IN SECRET and lying about it for as long as they could.

9)Denying the Malawian Witnesses 25 cent party cards, while allowing Meican Witnesses to cimmit perjury; they lie to this day about it.

10)Preaching death for those who do not become Jehovah's Witnesses and then saying they don't say that, and if they did say it they didn't mean it, and if they did mean it it was old light and now has changed. (See Russian and Georgian Witnesses.
