  How I lost my soul mate.

  i've shown this to a couple of friends, but i'm ready to widen that audience a bit.

  so, without further ado, here's my soul mate story.. i worked with amber and saw her a few times a week.

  when i first accepted a lead care position, she was the one who trained me in on med passing and from that first day i worked with her, i was so impressed by how kind and patient she was.

  Well see, that's the thing...

  My dad has had his life and made his choices. He partied, he had fun, he built up a business and has hobbies, and he will retire rich. He actually went against the society's advice all of his life, and now he expects me to do differently. He would love nothing more than to support me while I "store up riches in heaven". But he didn't store any. He had all of his fun and didn't make any meetings. And now, he gets to be well off, and will retire soon.

  So now I am supposed to do what he claims he should have done, and worry about being a good JW. It's unfair to me. His parents never rode his butt about going out and getting drunk. Here I am, safe at home with my SO and my dog, drinking in my own house and being safe, and yet somehow I'm the one in the family who is going to "die" because I don't waste my time in meaningless meetings. Maybe he needs to leave me alone for a little while and let me do my own thing. I am married and in another house, for god's sake!

  And then I get panic-phone calls.

  Ok, since you are parents, I am curious...

  Say you are a 100% believing JW, and the society is getting you and everyone around you excited about Armageddon coming. Then your kid tells you that he/she doesn't believe there will be an Armageddon. What would that be like for you?

  My poor man has totally given up on screening my phone calls for me. He's just no match for my dad's insanity, lol.

  LOL Jgnat, I loved that story!

  I am going to have to figure out how to grow a backbone with my parents. I don't get it. I stand up to other people, just not my parents.

  I already ignore his phone calls as it is. I was starting to feel kinda bad about it. That's what got me into this mess to start off with! If I could have just not answered when he was carrying on...

  Late 30s huh? I don't like the sound of that!

  I could tell him that. But he won't listen. If you knew him, you'd understand. He is the kind of person who will want to talk, and you can tell him you are running late, but he will totally ignore you and go on talking for an hour. It is torture.

  You guys, help me out here please!

  If you read my post about my dad, you understand why I am a bit nervous. He is calling now. I ignored the first ring, but I only have so long.

  He is going to want to know if I thought about what he said, and if I will go back to the meetings. How do I say no??

  He just left a message on my SO's phone wanting me to call. I don't want to talk to him! He just freaked out on me 2 days ago. It's way too soon. He is pushing me... Please give me ideas on what to say before he calls back

  never had a real religious formation until i met the witness in my teenage years.. not everything has been bad but most of my friends there and exwife have been cheaters, liars and hypocrites.... i called it quits this year as i could no longer swallow their truth.

  i remarried a supposedly "christian" 23 yr old woman that has shown me how bad things are 'out here'.... regarding her i have a question... those of you that continue to uphold bible's principles and love for our dear creator please advise on the following situation:.

  What makes you think "worldly" people are bad? I was raised a JW, and it seemed every guy/girl I knew was suspected of cheating. I married a non-JW, and he is the most loyal and kind person I could have ever wanted. My dad

  Plus, marriage and unborn fetuses are not sacred. You have to make yourself happy, and if a spouse or an embryo is standing in your way, get rid of it. Ditch that insane chick. She is making you sad, and she is using you. Please go get an HIV test ASAP as well, because you might have caught something from her that she caught from the ex.

  You should date a real person a little while before committing. Ask a friend/co-worker to hook you up.

  Make sure you talk to a lawyer before even mentioning it.

  Remember, worry about your feelings before hers, because your happiness is your responsibility!
