I was reading the comment section of story about trump and the things he says. It was very interesting I can't remember where it was because I do so much reading or else I would leave a link. But poster after poster said "the things Trump says is really his opinion and not just focus group approved responses when he is asked a question". Perhaps that's what resonates with so many Americans. There is nothing more sickening to listen to than a politician give prepared responses to questions that are approved by his/her handlers.

Yep it seems that the ones who were told they wouldn't finish high school before the end are overlapping with their Grandchildren's generation now. I wonder in amazement of what prognostications are to come from the GB's holy spirit directed leadership? I am awaiting with baited breath.

There will eventually be a cataclysmic event to reduce or eliminate humans from the planet, and life will go on again as it has for so much of our history.
Rebel I was thinking about that today. An extinction level event like a meteor impact perhaps?
Hopefully we'll find away off this third rock from the sun so our story as a species goes on.All it will take is enough time. Survival of the fittest you know.

I agree that a mass exodus is not going to happen for a variety of reasons, but I also think the publishing house that they enjoyed for a century or so is over. Just like many newspaper and magazine publishing houses that are former shells of themselves. The big major ones are still around but their influence is somewhat diminished.
This is why the WTBTS is selling the expensive properties in NY and elsewhere they are no longer needed. At least now they will have to continually adapt with the internet and compete to get their message out. That's why the indifference witnessed in the trolley cart witnessing
Then there is the third world countries were they can continue with publishing the way they have always done at least for now.

Potential for new meeting?
by campaign of hate ini've mentioned it in a few threads, but i'd like to make it a thread of it's own.. i'm going to make the prediction the gb will schedule a new meeting once a month, starting in jan 2016, for watching the jw broadcasting program.
at the moment it's up to each cong to organize a viewing, but soon the gb will take over the arrangements.. i make this assumption based on the fact that they know that a substantial quantity of pubs are not tuning in every month.. by scheduling a meeting once a month, it's easier for the gb/elders/organisation to gauge how many people are watching, and to make sure everyone is fully indoctrinated with what the gb are saying.
it will also keep the rank and file busy busy busy.. if i was a cult leader, that's what i would do.

Its a possibility, the latest thing for Kingdom Halls to have a large screen up on the stage, where the monthly broadcast could be viewed.
Not that something like that would bring to mind images of George Orwell's 1984. Would it Finkel ? LOL.

So much "growth"! JW Land double sided coin
by thedepressedsoul ini'm finding it more and more funny how every wt article for the public or congregation, including jw broadcast talks about all this "growth" and how fast jehovha's organization is speeding up!
yet everything behind closed doors, insider information, elder letters and sales paint a very different picture.
i have news for you gb members!

This makes me think that the same could eventually happen in the third world where expansion does exist for now, that a saturation point will come and the JW org will nevertheless be in control of even greater wealth and large numbers of dim-witted believers loyally breeding new child members... just like they did in the Catholic Church.
There is however a dramatic difference; the Roman Catholic Church has a magisterial hold over its vast but diminishing membership based on the myth of an apostolic inheritance from Jesus’ appointment of Peter. The Watchtower religion makes its claim by contrast as a doomsday cult, not of this world, which can never claim the ‘earthly’ authority as does its envied and supremely successful rival.
The authority of a doomsday cult arises from the confidence in the accuracy of its predictions...
Half Banana: Very astute observations about the Catholic Church and the JW doomsday cult.

I just went along going through the motions paying lip service to this odd religious belief system I was born into
Me too Jookbeard. I can honestly say that there was not a time while being a JW that I felt comfortable with it. Maybe that's why I never brought anyone "into the truth" even though I had the opportunity on many occasions to do so. I was sort of like those people that walked really slow from house to house hoping to find not at homes.

There are more humans alive right now leading longer and healthier lives than at any time in human history. So unless you live in North Korea there is no greater time to be alive. We routinely deal with health issues for example on a world wide scale that would have wiped out millions in the past.
Life is not perfect by any means but just imagine if you were on a space ship headed for earth could you think of a better time to be arriving than now? Our biggest challenge now as people is to make sure we don't become victims of our own success by overpopulating and allowing petty differences to force us into warring with each other. Education and not indoctrination is key to this and I am sure that scares the hell out of a lot of religiously minded people but I think we'll figure it out. Who knows what the rest of this century will bring?
