Lambs bottom we were not in it for the thrill of the hunt we were in it for the thrill of eating. I miss those days there is nothing to compare the taste of partridge or grouse or pheasant or what ever their called where you live.

As for the thrill seekers like those idiots I see on shows like "Duck Dynasty" I think they are really stupid for shooting ducks. I wouldn't waste ammunition shooting ducks but that's just me. They taste terrible, maybe if I was starving and they were the only thing left to eat then maybe.

Where I grew up in rural Canada having a gun was just a natural part of growing up. We even took shotguns and rifles to school. Locked them in our lockers and no one ever shot anybody that I can recall. If I tried that today, in many areas I would be arrested. In many rural environs still today in Canada, guns are not treated much different than pitch forks or knives. if you have ever been to Northern Canada guns are used just as much for your protection as a tool for gathering food.

Agnostics claim that there isn't any proof one way or the other that god exists. That's true. There isn't. However, based on common sense and on the balance of probability, there's more proof against god existing than there is for him.

Be careful with the common sense thing. There are many on this site who were talked into believing in God and Satan and the bible, based on common sense, who today don't believe a word of it.

I believe that a preponderance of the evidence tends to make me lean towards atheism as well and I respect your belief in atheism but I keep my mind open until it's proven one way or the other.

I don't believe that if it was ever proven there was some kind of a god it would be nothing like what we could ever imagine or have imagined, but it is only a belief.

I am an agnostic I don't make fun of theists or atheists. They are both positions that can not so far be proven. I believe agnosticism is the only position that a true scientists can take. You don't enter any experiment with your mind already made up. You wait for observations and conclusions and then you wait for peer review of the same. It's when the evidence becomes overwhelming, for example natural selection, that it gets increasingly difficult to refute it as fact and even then some try.

who among you has ever heard of carnivorous birds, birds of the kind of vulture, increasing in number at lightning speed on some mystery island located on our planet ?

twice in europe before 1975, once through a co talk in a "kingdom" hall and once again by i do not exactly remember who during a jws' convention.

and all this in order to prepare jws to be as fit as a fiddle for an universal carnage orchestrated supposedly by the true god intending to very soon annihilate "worldly" people not belonging to his chosen ones.

I remember hearing things like that from the assemblies. It's funny in about 1973 or 1974 strangely enough turkey vultures showed up here in this area of Canada. My father was totally convinced they were here to deal with the aftermath of Armageddon.

Turns out they were just another species that the government was reintroducing to the area. LOL They had been here for a long time until the settlers shot them all.

so we all know that "crazy" brother or sister.

every kingdom hall has one.

they give the best comments (from a hilarious perspective), have experiences with the "demons", but most importantly, they are on about 10 deifferent kinds of medications.

When I heard the many demon stories when I was a child about objects flying around, things moving on their own, and so on. I remember thinking if we could only get these demons to turn a generator we would have a inexhaustible free energy supply. Sadly though there just was no free lunch to be had. LOL.

This religion/cult messes people up. They are damaging, destructive... I do not understand how they are allowed to legally operate.

I think they should be allowed to operate legally but since they enjoy charitable tax free status and don't do any charitable work they should pay taxes like everybody else does.
