What did you think of "new light"?

convention etiquette
by karvel infirst post, not sure if this is in the right section....anyway, last night's service meeting included a part about the upcoming district convention.
the usual take notes, make sure your teenagers sit with you, blah,blah, blah, was there but then they mentioned something new.
apparently now you have to wear your suit and lapel all weekend if you stay at a hotel.

That is exactly how I want to dress after the convention, in my ''knee length dress'' in 100 degree temps! And you brothers, in suits and ties, can't you imagine how nice and cool you will feel in the baking sun? At least you will look like a Witness and not like a wordling! What a grand provision they have lovingly provided!
Just one more example of the love from the faithful and discreet slave who are dispensing spiritual food at the proper time.

by pratt1 ini have a very close friend, who is still an active dub.
we have known each other since we were kids and we have been able to maintain a strong friendship - we are actually more like brothers than friends.. we have reached a truce - i don't try to talk him out of being a dub and he doesn't try to talk me out of being an apostate.. we have both worked hard to honor this rule.. my problem is, i am the "godfather" of his son.
meaning if something should happen to him and his wife, i would raise his son.. i have a very close relationship with the boy, he is 7 and smart as a whip.

Most kids his ages would be crushed and devasted if their friend didnt go.
They dont understand ''the principle of not going'', that doesnt mean squat to them! He's 7, NOT 14.
I would ask him how he would feel if I did not go. If he even hints that he would be hurt, then I would go.
He will see you not going as a personal rejection. Kids take their first talk very seriously. I honestly think he take it personally
The one suggestion to just go to his talk, and then leave right after sends the message loud and clear that you went for the boy, and nothing else.

or you can be thinking of a person and they ring you?.
but if you really feel that you are psychic or that you communicate with "dead people" how did you cope with it when you were a witness?.

Sorry my reply was so vauge, I was pressed for time when typing it.
I agree with Terry's above statement that often intuition is based on accumulated knowledge and of knowledge about loved ones, so that we can anticipate what they will say.
I just think that there are parts of our brain that have not been developed, since we do not use 100% of our brains. Is that a correct assumption?
And from that assumption, I think that there is quite possibly to posses certain new abilities...all I was saying is that perhaps a small percentage of the population , men and women, not just women, have those abilities, but are not taken seriously...because of all the fraudulent persons out there making money off of it. There are those that believe in those abilites.
I am open-minded about it, I cannot say, '' No, there is no possible way that the human brain can be capable of having certain abilites that are deemed paranormal''.
