correct to read: Now, I feel so adjusted to life, I can't *believe* I was once forced...
i never converted to becoming a jehovah's witness as an act of volition.
i gradually found myself absorbed into a group that "accepted" me.. being a part of something larger than myself was key.
i'd never been inside a functioning group.

I left the dubs when I was 18 or so, but life never felt right for me until I got into my 30s. Now, I feel so adjusted to life, I can't I was once forced to wear a tie and make a sales pitch for two little JW magazine as if I belonged to a church that was full of used-car salespeople.
so, it's a saturday night, i'm home alone and my love/social life sucks.
so, i was iming a few minutes ago with a friend of mine who doesn't live here in denver, bitching about my love life... so, he since he realizes i tend to date conservative women, he asks me why i haven't hooked up with a jw woman and then get her away from the borg.
now, there's a risky proposition and it's obvious my friend has never been in borg.

has anyone heard of what happened with prince being a jehova's witness if he still is or not?
and how is he pursuing his music career while doing it?
"Gamillah"? Why does the word "Gommorah" keeps popping up in my head? Some sort of weird word association?
his any one else found that the latest wt cd rom won't work if you have this web site (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com) open?
There's actually a Watchtower CD-Rom? You've got to be kiddin' me -- they're coming into the 21st century with their propoganda? Damn, I've been out of the "truth" for so long, I have to remind myself it isn't 1990 anymore.

I used to really like Prince. Then he gets all "pure" (sort of). speaking of Dub celebs -- does anyone want to weigh in the Williams sisters? I always thought they've gotten away with more than Prince or MJ.
what has come back to me and what i have realized through this website is that my mother was probably mentally very sick with this religion for most of her life.. it was a sickening obsession to obey, tattle, feel extreme guilt, turn in family members, and never, ever measure up no matter what she did.
endless months of pioneering, meeting attendance and studying for meetings were not enough .....ever....she is now 73 years old and still trying to pioneer in the exhausting heat of florida.
in her full time pioneering days she came down with breast cancer.
Personally, I think many of the adults who seek out the JWs and, sooner or later, become one are often mentally disturbed in some way to begin with.

Alan: I'll give you a call in a couple of nights...this week is already shaping up to be a weird one. Are you a Colorado native?
