  Elder Resigns Because Of 9---11

  last night i talked to an elder that resigned early this year and he told me that he resigned as an elder because of 9--11. he felt that after seeing thousands of people dying in such a horrifying way, there was just no way god would destroy 99 and 9 tenths of the world and only spare jehovah's witnesses.

  he also felt that since the kingdom message could not be adequately preached by a handful of jw's so that people could get life, the whole thing is a sham.

  he no longer goes to meetings and his wife crys to everybody about her husband.

  Independent thinking.....hmmm, let's see. The right to live day-today without being overshadowed with meddling elders wondering how we make love to our spouses, the right to decide what type of medical treatment for a life-threatening condition with no additional stress imposed upon by ancient mosaic law, which according to the BIBLE, Jesus had abolished. The right to have therapy by a trained professional in case of rape, child molestation, clinical depression, alcohol&drug re-hab without being told how we no longer have faith in Jehovah, blah, blah blah....What I say is, if it talks like a cult, walks like a cult, harms like a cult, controls like a cult.....GUESS WHAT? It is a cult!!!!!!

  Elders Spying on JWs

  i hear crazy stories about elders spying on the congregational members.

  i even hear of stake outs on member's homes.. anybody have any stories about elders doing crazy stuff that you have seen them do or even heard about from others?

  meaning elders trying to catch members being in the wrong?.

  Oh yeah......elders are pieces of work alright, 1978, I just got my first apartment. Had to for the sake of peace between my JW mom and me. After being inactive since 1975, with no desire to continue in the Borg, I fell in love and got pregnant. War was declared in my house....elders coming in and out, mom carrying on, stressing me out.....I loss the baby,but oh no mom just had to figure I had an abortion, well here we go again, calling the elders back to the house. After I got good and sick of it, I moved 4 blocks away, [not far enough it seems]. After telling my mom not to give out my address to ANYONE....she did it anyway. The first week in my apt. was great! peace and quiet!, but one Sat. I had to work, and my kitchen window had a broken lock, landlord took too long in fixing it....oh, dont you know the same day a sister's son went with my key to fix it, left to my job to give me the key, I got home, 2 seconds after I put my bag down, I got a knock on the door....quess who??? yep, tweedle dee, tweedle dum and tweedle dummer, asking me why was that man coming out of my house with a key! I simply told them it was none of their concern, and Bro S. said," You know what this means?", I responded," I really dont care anymore what you think, do what you need to do, you obviously made up your minds anyway!". So, being df"d was no great loss to me, but poetic justice came through, that Bro.S. I mentioned was later DF'd and still is 'til this day!

  society doesn't care about how outsiders view them.

  they don't care about how the rank and file look at them.they don't give any credence to congregational elders or ministerial servants or pioneers.

  Scriptural Basis of not believing in Hell

  i am not a jehovah witness however i'm ver interested in jw doctrine.

  i consider myself somewhat of a scholar.. i first attempted to get my questions answered by having jw's come to my home.

  however, i was most disappointed because they were too busy trying to recruit me than trying to answer my questions.

  Hell is a state of mind...when you are 12 yrs or so and your JW father gets you pregnant and kills your baby at birth to cover it up and your own mother is in cohoots[reading the child-abuse in Denmark thread] and still your father and mother are in good standing in the congregation....uh..sounds like hell to me!!!!.......rocky220
