AnneMarie: Thnk you for sharing your story. It was indeed heartfelt and made me firmer in my decision to stay away from that evil organization. I hope that your children are doing okay now and I hope that they are enjoying the freedom that your decision has given them. I hope that you will continue to post here and you will find that every time you post it will be an affirmation of your new freedom. My best to you and your children.

Disfellowshipped For Being Raped...
by Anne Marie indear post reader.... i was that young and pretty sister you may have seen...the one with "all those kids".
the one who stuggled to raise her children alone.
the one who was rarely considered as "wife material" because she was "damaged goods".

Oh and as far as disturbing the peace of the congregation, well they need to be shaken out of their apathy. Those poor people have been deluded and brain washed for so long they don't know which end is up. Imagine letting your loved one die because some man tells you its wrong to take an infusion of blood.

Well yes, Yadrif, I understand that. I understood that from the beginning. What did you think, that I would go into the Kingdom Hall waving my bible like a maniac and shouting for all to listen to me because I had something important to say about JW's and the organization they worship? Of course, I wouldn't. I may be a little slow, but I'm not a complete idiot. However, if I can prove from the bible that everything that the JW's teach is not correct I can certainly pass that information on to my "friends". I could even do it at meetings by facial expressions, hand gestures, etc. Anyway, the organization was started by humans just like me and you and continues to operate under the whims anf auspices of those same humans. The WBTS is not sacred, it is not God's only channel of communication today and so I have the right to voice that opinion, here or anywhere else I choose to.

Best of luck Violet. I hope I don't sound too JW like, but it is a vile, nasty habit. I believe that out bodies should be clean and devoid of anything that interfers with our reality. Keep us posted.

Devils Advocate-A Question for X-JW's
by apostate man inok, i am going to play devils advocate and ask the question: are the jw's correct about anything?
surely there has to be something that is commonly agreed upon to be correct.
i am not talking about what current jw's say, i am not talking about simple things like: read the bible, or be a witness.

The WBTS teaches morality and they make sure that you stay moral. So your conscience is not allowed to develope its own moral system. Oh, no, the witnesses do it for you. They other members are instructed to spy on you and consider it their duty to report any indiscretion to the elders. You are told over and over again that God's people are moral and to gain favor with God and the organization we must fight all urges. If you do slip and commit an immorality, they have a whole decision making court in place for to appear before to let you know if you are good enough to continue being a witnesses. Oh, yeah, I guess there are some good things about the witnesses....

Yadirf, my friend, I suppose I felt just as the witnesses do when they first heard the WT message. They want to share that information with everyone. Well, that's how I felt. When I found the REAL truth I wanted to share that information with as many people as I could. I felt it was important to let people know that salvation could not be gained by marching door to door selling literature for the WBTS. I believe that I have a right to inform people of the WBTS's false teachings. As for believing in God, after you have been enmeshed in the organization your entire life and you find out after decades of service that they do not teach the truth, what happens in that your belief system is absolutely blown part and you are no longer sure what to believe. That happens until you gain your equilibrium. However, I am an ongoing process. I am searching for myself this time and not letting anyone tell me what to believe and what is right. I am doing fine and this board has been a trememdous asset.

Years ago when Jim Pellechia was our CO I loved to hear him talk. He was always so easy going and he had a way that drew you in to what he had to say. From the audience his wife always looked at him so adoringy that it made you like him too.

I'm heading off to go to the Bryant memorial
by seven006 ini really hate funerals and memorials and avoid them as much as i can.
looking back on the few i have attended over the past ten years i guess i only go to them because of the people who are left behind.
since i didn't know the bryant's or any of their family members i find the draw that i have to this service even more confusing.

Seven, I support and applaud your decision to attend the memorial service. I send you my good wishes.

Can You Please Help folks to know the Real Deal?
by JT ini usually don't like letter writing programs, but i may i ask all of you- could you take the time to drop an email to anyone who publishes an article in the paper like we have seen in ref to the bryant family.. these reporters appreciate feedback and if you ever wanted to offer help or do something - this just might be your opportunity, .
so i as as many of you as possible drop these folks a line.

Great idea, JT. Perhaps if they get lots of feedback they will be inclined to look at this matter on a deeper level. Wouldn't it be great to have one of those invetigative indepth stories about the WTBS and its shunning practices?
