You know its always been hard for me to understand why God just didn't exterminate the devil and his cohorts right then and there. We know that Jehovah has few qualms about killing people who don't obey him, so why didn't he just kill satan and his gang of angels?
Maybe the fact that he punished them by hurling them down to earth is indicative of something. Is being on earth punishment? Are we being punished because we live on earth?

my children and i just returned from a trip to germany where we visited my deceased husbands parents, his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, and assorted cousins, all of who are jehovahs witnesses.. before we left, the children and i agreed that since their grandparents were old people and not in good health, it would be an act of loving consideration not to cause them any further distress by announcing that we were no longer active in the congregation.
so we went prepared to attend meetings, to go out in field service and to pretend that we were still die hard jehovahs witnesses.
we packed the proper kingdom hall attire, suits, ties, ankle length dresses, as well as our bibles and songbooks.. i suppose to some this may seem the cowards way out, that i should have just announced our new status and let the chips fall where they may.

Yeru, we were in a small town about 25 miles outside of Cologne, near the Rhine River. The inhabitants of this town insist that it is a suburb of Cologne, while actually it is in the country. There is a patch of wild cabbages growing right across the street from the post office. If that's not the country I don't know what is.
i have some questions for the techies out there:.
if demons hang out on websites waiting for unwitting jws to download them when they go to that particular website, do they travel faster over highspeed lines vs phone lines?.
are demons capped at a 56k transfer rate over a phone line?

i have always wondered something, what was up with the hard cover green bibles?
i ask, as it just seemed weird to me to have a bible with this kind of cover.
they always seemed to be everywhere too ... the new studies always had one.

here's something for the watchtower to chew on...... a recent article in biblical archaeology review (july/august 2002) has a cover article on the hezekiah bullae.
each features traditional egyptian iconography.
several have dung beetles depicted in the center, while one has a winged sundisk flanked by an ankh.

I'm sorry I don't have any sage advice about boyfriends sleeping over. Each child is different and you have to treat them and sexuality differently.
It's just that you can influence your kids by fear of you or love of you. I choose love and an open line of communication. I stress abstinence with my children until marriage but of course, being no dummy, I know that in today's society the likelihood of sex before marriage is probable.
I can only say that I would rather they were doing "IT" safely under my roof that in someone else's home or the back of a car. But all in all its a hard call.
