the following is the contents of a hand-written letter i just received from my (21 year old) sister, who is getting married may 18. for some reason, i thought that she would let love and compassion be stronger than wt programming.

i went to their official website today and skimmed their articles on child molestation and it made me a bit angry to say the least.
they briefly talked about going to the authorities but not once did they stress that it was something that should be done in every case.

Actually, YoYo, I never got the impression that Russell was a humble man. He was strong in his beliefs and it was hard to dissuade him from what he considered to be the right thing to do. Apostates, as defined by the WT, are not out to hurt their brothers. On the contrary, the intent is to enlighten the brothers and to let them know that no man made organization will bring them everlasting life. So actually "Apostates" are engaged in a public service work.

also, i recall that in my dubbing days, the wt said it was ok to play classical music over the pa system.
They used to bring the body into the Hall at funerals, there would be a funeral talk and then the "friends" would go and view the dead in the casket. Most of the time the casket was open although there are sometimes closed caskets. It depends on the preference of the family. Brothers would be designated to carry the casket out to the limousine and then again carry it in the cemetery to the burial site, to which almost all in attendance at the Hall would go. Now when someone dies the body is not brought to the Kingdom Hall and after the funeral talk and short talks by members of the family, only family and close friends go to the cemetery. At least, that has been my experience.
