  does a prophet have to claim to speak for "god" to be a false prophet?.

  can he be a false prophet if he claims to speak for someone else who speaks to god?.

  can he be a false prophet if he interprets a biblical prophet in a new way?.

  People today can view the creative works. They have at hand the Bible, but it is little read or understood. So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?

  IDENTIFYING THE "PROPHET"

  These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ... This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.

  Witnesses at Target

  is this happening anywhere else?

  i'm in southern california and the jw's are sitting outside target at least twice a week with a table set up.

  okay, when i was pioneering, this was a big no-no.

  Hi Aunty: I was shocked one day when I was on my way to work to see that a couple of women had set up a table down in a subway station and the table was covered with WT literature. They weren't approaching people, just sitting there in folding chairs. Inventive way to get in your time, huh?

  For years the information contained in the WT was "inspired" just as the Bible was inspired and so because it came directly from Jehovah it was to be believed and obeyed. Then when they admitted the WT was not inspired, the WBTS became God's earthly organization and the Governing Body became the Faithful and Discreet Slave dispensing information from Jehovah. So they claim actual inspiration straight from Jehovah, as did the prophets.

  over the years of being on the net there are always some post that just stand out more than others.

  there is a guy not sure where he is from but his name is norm, - this guy has no idea the role he played in my leaving wt.

  according to the watchtower, when has there not been "a time of urgency.

  can someone please explain to me what is going on with the happiest people on earth.

  a good friend of mine tried to kill herself tuesday night.

  apparently it was over and elder.

  Hi Xena: Of course JWs face the same problems that the rest of the world faces. However, when you constantly hear that Jehovah protects his people, JW's are different than the rest of the world and, of course, the ever popular "Jehovah's Witnesses are the happiest people on earth" and you personally don't feel that way no matter how hard you try, it makes it more than a little hard to handle when faced with adversity. You begin to feel that something is wrong with you and not what you are being taught.

  The Memorial has just Started

  well, it's almost 7pm in sydney australia and no doubt some congregations would be starting their memorials very soon, if not already.

  due to the overcast conditions, i can't see the moon, but one of the special things about this time of the year is seeing the full moon, which reminds me of the specialness of the memorial ritual held for me as i was growing up.. this is the second time in my entire life that i will be absent from the memorial.

  it was strange last year to be not attending for the first time ever, but this year i feel more comfortable about it.. i'm not sure why.

  hello,.

  some of you who have 'drifted' from the wts may not be aware than in recent months the wts has required co's to report the names and circumstances of those who have become 'inactive'.

  the elders are required to visit each one and report to the co on his next visit as to where they are, who they are and why they have gone 'inactive'.. as ever there may be mixed motives with this arrangement, but it as well to be prepared.. best regards - hs

  in the context of this forum, happiness at its core is generally defined in one of two ways: a) being a witness or, b) not being a witness.

  most of us consider ourselves happier since leaving the organization.

  because of a recent discussion between violetanai and marilyn, i've thought about it some more, only to reaffirm the truth i already discovered some time ago.
