  Your View On Capital Punishment

  we all know the bible's view on capital punishment.

  in fact, in the 1969 edition of aid to bible understanding, the author notes the following: .

  "the value of life is considered so sacred by god that the blood of a murdered person is viewed by him as defiling the earth and such defilement can be cleansed only by shedding the blood of the murdered.

  144, thanks for pulling me into this. I appreciate it.

  But then I started the thread and I guess its only fair for me to weigh in.

  I am 100% for capital punishment. I don't care what they say about it not being a detrement to crime or any of the other "bleeding heart" opinions as to why the death penalty should not be implemented. If a person commits a murder I would have no trouble at all voting for the death penalty. Of course, there are always extenuating circumstances and I am willing to take those into consideration. However, for a coldblooded murder, premeditated murder, I'd vote for death every time.

On this basis the Bible authorizes capital punishment for murder, through duly constituted authority. In ancient Israel no ransom could be taken to deliver the deliberate murdered from the death penalty."

  When we were practicing Jehovahs Witnesses I think we all believed in capital punishment and we were taught that an "eye for an eye" was the righteous way. However, since we are no longer under the control of that cult, do you still believe in capital punishment?

  Congrats to my bro-in-law...the graduate

  my brother-in-law is graduating today, and i just wanted to tell you guys how proud i am of him.

  he's overcome learning disabilities to be one of the top in his class.

  he was on the honor roll the entire year, and he stood up for himself when it came time to decide between the whims of his parents and his personal honor.. he dealt with emotional and physical abuse from his parents.

  completely OT....leech infection!

  okay.....now this thread is completely off any topic i have seen here before...but i am just in shock over an infection that my 9 year old son got w/in hours of swimming at an area lake.

  my kids went swimming for about 4 hours yesterday and my middle boy, james, found a leech in his belly button on the ride home.

  he didn't think anything of it and pulled it off.

  well, some here think that all we do is sit around a post naughty pics and do no charitable or volunteer work.

  i thought we could see who does what for their respective communities.

  valis= free computer support dallas shakespeare festival + on the wing again bird sanctuary/rescue, photopgraphic web hosting services for the bob marley festival of dallas, am about to start w/the down's syndrome guild of dallas doing web support and event work/soliciting charitable donations from companies, and my teaching that means working many hours unpaid to help my students personally/educationally.

  Pro Bono legal work for those whose incomes will not allow them to retain legal counsel. I collect child support, get people from getting kicked out of their apartments because of non payment of rent and I also assist the elderly in collecting federal grants.

  Clearing Things Up

  no, this isn't another childish photoshop prank.. in the past day(s), probably many of you have noticed the facility that i had to lash out unnecessarily at other people.

  i've insulted people who came to support me, i've embarassed myself, gone into arguments that i couldn't win, made a pretty flagrant face-about, and generally, made an ass of myself.

  and for that i'm sorry.. to tell the truth, the last day (s) has/ve been a nightmare of sorts.

  I love you Mindfield and respect you as well. In my mind you can't make mistakes. Its an old cliche, I kow. but time heals all things. The things that seem unbearable today may completely change tomorrow. I wish you only the best!
