Absolutely not. In fact one of the advantages for some women in breastfeeding is that it just feels good. We're talking about an eight year old boy here and whether or not he is too old to be breastfed and I questioned his mother's motivation in continuing to breastfeed him.

i received this tonight from jacob groenveld, jan groenveld's son:as you are probably all aware my mother, jan groenveld passed away last week at 3.15am,october 22nd at the tender age of 57 and was finally laid to rest yesterday morning at a very touching service attended by many of her closest friends, family and "extended" family.

theauditorium was filled to capacity and overflowing and i was honoured that my mother was thoughtof so deeply by so many and that she had such an impact on so many lives.

this will be the final email sent using jan's email address as the internet account will be deactivatedwithin the next 7 days.

Congregation get-togethers

about every 6-9 months, mine would have a congregation picnic.

Recently I was reading an article which confirmed what I have experienced when breastfeeding. Please note:

Breasts - sexual pleasure or feeding?

Couples often notice changes in their feelings about the breasts. Many women feel sexual stimulation during breastfeeding. This is common and normal.

Perhaps, unwittingly, this mother continued to breastfeed because she was being sexually stimulated as a result? I don't know. However, this child was eight years old and in the third grade and in this culture too mature to be breastfed.

I wonder if he spoke of his breastfeeding to the other boys and girls at school? If he did would he other children have ridiculed him or would they have just shrugged it off as being normal? Because in the end, this society, this culture, will be the arbiter of whether the mother was right or wrong and it will greatly influence the way this child ultimately feels about himself.
