and petrified... i just recently became a pioneer and always had nagging questions in the back of my mind.

so, i decided that when i have get a study i would research all the questions as i go along so as to prove everything in the truth... i got 4 studies in about 2 months.

all was fine, until i reached i think chapter 6 in the bible teach book about the resurrection.

Don't ever, ever believe that God doesn't love you. As you will find out through your own research, the only ones who are critical of you and belittle you will be the Organization. Jesus said that his load was light, but as you are experiencing, those people will suffocate you if you allow them. Besides this site, I found solace at www.intouch.org. There was a bible study program there that helped me understand that regardless of what I did (pioneered, building KH, whatever), Jesus died for our sins despite the fact that we mess up things on a daily basis. There is nothing that we can do to "earn" his sacrifice and love. It's the same way my kids can't repay me for all of the time and energy that I will have spent on them to get them to adulthood (but an all-expenses paid month long trip to Tahiti might be a start! )

I was so miserable and confused that reading the Bible made me cry. I became suicidal (definitely don't do that!) I was so stressed out from being the wife of an (alcoholic) elder, a regular pioneer, etc. that I developed IBS. Now, the great thing about IBS is that it flares up unexpectantly and nobody can dispute your pain. This might be a great way for you to begin your fade without being under a lot of scrutiny. My IBS cleared up when I divorced my elder husband, stopped going to meetings and such, but if it helps you get a little breathing space I say use it!

okay, this is the latest crazy email that i've gotten from my sister who is a happy drone within the borg.

Hi Guys Here is a story told at the annual meeting! You know how the society has been cutting costs, part time help, cutting back on cd's; selling property etc... well, you know the famous WATCHTOWER READ GODS WORD DAILY " sign is on one side of the place,,,, well ,,, on the other side is a sign but also a clock which is lit at night! Well the G.B, decided that >it cost too much in electricity so they decided to turn it off! Now remember , this has been lit since forever as far as bethel goes. Well they got inundated with phone calls and Emails telling them that the clock was dark and the lights were out, The brothers would politely answer that yes they understood but that they are cutting costs so decided to turn it off.
WELL..... the MAYORS office eventually phoned and said that THEY were inundated with calls objecting to the clock being turned off , so when the brothers told them about the cost cutting the mayor said....." We will have a man come over and put a meter on that side and the City will pay for it!!!! .........

WOW talk about a LANDMARK!!!! JEHOVAH is amazing and truly awe inspiring!!

New Paranoia -- Medical Forms are the newest tools of Satan

i don't have the heart to tell her that there are other people on the planet that have things they'd rather the medical community didn't do to save their lives.

Hi. My sister (a well-meaning, sweet drone) sent me this email and although I don't get a chance to post often, I thought that this was just too ridiculous to keep to myself. Scary people we used to hang around with. Anyway, here it goes.

My sister says:

Subject: FW: Medical forms - blood

Hello:
Please keep your eyes open and read all of the fine print when checking into the hospital for any reason and be especially careful if it is an emergency situation. Satan has come up with another back door approach to invalidate our medical directive cards - BEWARE!
Subject: advance medical directive
You'll never guess what I ran into! It's another lesson in: Never trust Satan's system. Jehovah's organization lovingly educated us as to the importance of the Advance Medical Directive, and even provided the necessary legal paperwork so that we would be protected, especially where the mis-use of blood might get into the picture. Now what could possibly go wrong here? We are fully prepared, aren't we?
Now check this. Before a particular procedure I was given 3 pages to read with all kinds of stuff in small type: what problems had I ever had in the past; operations; meds I take, etc., the usual stuff. At the end I had to sign the papers. I assume that 99% of us trust our doctors and we sign, never expecting to run into a paragraph like this (word for word):
"I understand that advance directives are NOT honored at [this medical Center] and in the event of a life-threatening situation, emergency medical procedures will be instituted in every instance and patients will be transferred to a higher level of care where the
decision to continue or to terminate emergency measures can be made..."
Friends, Satan isn't asleep -- always, always watch what you sign!

Please contribute. Children in divided homes.....

..............i am specifically refering to those raised in the truth by both parents and then one parent leaves.

firstly, any experiences of those who went through this would be appreciated.. mainly, i am just wondering what is the best way to influence your children against the jw mindset.

it is a concern to me that my children grow up believing some of the doctrines of the wts.

Just be a good parent and express your viewpoints on things. My father wasn't a JW, but was a good man. So when they were cackling about how everyone else was going to be destroyed at Armageddon it didn't sit well with me. I mean, why would Jehovah want to kill my Daddy? Also, talk about other religious beliefs (just in passing) when you're watching or reading the news and other current events. This helped me because it made me realize that everyone claims that their religion is the right one and everybody else is wrong. It helped me to have a more balanced view of the world. Also ask a lot of questions like "what did you learn at the meeting tonight?" and then when you have some alone time (sans JW parent) ask leading questions to help the children think out of the Witnessdom box. JW deaths ONLY due to blood issue? Think again.

" it just occurred to me that this might be a good place to have others sharing experiences where the wtbts dictates were not only unloving, but actually deadly.

for over 15 years i excused the organization and the horribly wrong and sometimes death-dealing advice or decrees of the elders.

Just another sad statistic. I knew a beautiful and talented young girl who ended her life in despair. She was a talented poetess, honor student who was in love with a worldly man. She ended her life at 22. She tried all of the panacea's available (encouraged) by the control-freaks -- pioneer, keep busy, find a good brother (hah!), assiste at a deaf congregation, etc. But it couldn't help the frustration of being denied your God-given talents and dreams. And of course, she suffered from the guilt of being attracted to "an enemy of Jehovah" and whatever else they could find to guilt you into submission. I found out about her death through my ex-JW elder husband. She and I had been friends, but once I was axed of course our relationship ended. What really makes me sad/infuriated is that the tact the body took was that Satan's system was too much for the poor girl to handle. The fact is that all their loving, smothering, controlling, guilt trips drove her to it. So, I agree, more JWs die from things other than the refusal of blood. The blood guilt they should suffer for destroyed lives is enormous.

BTW, she was the 2nd eldest in a family of 8 -- she left a poem about how sad she was and how unworthy she was of Jehovah, but encouraged her siblings to be stronger than she was and never leave the path to life. Poor misguided child.
