on the contrary, when we have discovered that our beliefs were not completely in line with the bible, we have changed our beliefs.. is this correct?.

Definately. Many ' christian ' websites have the quote from a leading greek scholar saying that the NWT is " in some parts downright dishonest " as he calls it an erronious translation ( I have a copy of the letter he wrote to the GB somewhere ! )

THe name jehovah has been inserted where the original greek says Kurios (lord) and after comparing it with three other bibles, I found it wanting in several key areas , particularly key scripture on what you must do to be saved and earn gods graces, these were quite muddied up and indeciperable I felt in the NWT ( forgive me for not having the NWT or examples to hand ).

It isn't as bad as it has been made out to be by some 'experts' to be fair IMO - but I do take particular interest in translating ' grace ' as ' underserved kindness.'

John 1:1 is a prime example of their doctrinal bias . But it's only fair to state that - none of us are experts in that particular branch of Greek.

Collosians 1 :15 -17 insertion of [ other] Jws say that was to emphasise the trinity is a lie - but the scriptures do say anyone who adds to or takes away from the Bible is to be eternally damned. THe bible doens't need any alteration to make a point stand out - that is very clear from scripture - let God be found true , even though all men are liars - remember that scripture ?

I honestly believe it is the worst translation I have read.

i have read articles about peter sutcliffe (he brutally killed 13 women in the north of england in the 70s ) becoming a jehovahs witness in broadmoor and jehovahs witnesses have commented about him being a "changed man " etc and also the man who is serving 5 years for his part in the death of baby p becoming a jehovahs witness , i commented to my husband that his mum (jw ) would technically feel more comfortable having a chat and a coffee with them (because they love "the truth" ) than her own disfellowshipped children !

does this kind of story annoy those of you who are slandered for being "apostate" etc by family ?

and why dosnt it make die hard jws see the craziness of it all ?.

I'm back. I just collared two JWs out on the field service today and asked them if they would sooner speak to baby Ps killer than a disfellowshipped person. The reply amazed even me.

The brother said that " a disfellowshipped person has rejected Jehovahs standards where as Baby Ps killer hasn't " and so he would "sooner speak to Baby Ps killer than them. ". I thanked him for his opinion and left laughing to myself. ( BEar in mind the brother with him was not repulsed at all by his response and showed no emotion . What happened to alarm bells - I'm OK with you so long as you are seen by me to be obedient to the GB and their words. We have NO relationship or attachment emotionally) I will ask as many Jws as I can spot and post it on my personal internet blog. It is absolutely mind blowing.

A case in Bristol ( or was it london ) of a Jw child molester of 27 years ( his wife is standing by him and he has not been disfellowshipped ) is OK in their books - as he is repentant. Now he has been with her in the marital bed whilst abusing children for over two decades and now she knows this animal has committed these acts whilst preaching and associating with brothers , etc and she is standing by him - to me that's appalling. OMG. Yet they would refuse to speak to me as an apostate and many very likeable disfellowshipped people.

I have often wondered this, JWs often parrot that it is not for man to judge - so the repentant are welcome and God will judge their hearts.

You and me are Apostates a grave danger to the rest of the world and so yes, we are lower than the Yorkshire Ripper and RoseMary West ( last I heard yes she was coming along in her studies )We're not repentant worshippers of Jehovah and so we are resisters who like Satan wish to lead all away from Jehovah ( AKA the Governing Body ) and join Satan in rebellion. It is sad that JWs are molded often to lose what comes natural - and so yeah , we are monsters to them. Baby Ps killer is interested in " the truth " reports I heard are that he is very serious about it. It's not for us to judge what's in their hearts according to witnesses I've spoken with.

New Chapter is right - it's more wicked to criticise the Governing Body - in fact to disrespect God himself seems less offensive to these clowns. GOD BLESS APOSTASY

though i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.

They help us so much tell us what to think, who to associate with even tell us what subjects of conversation we should ideally indulge in - ie the ministry. So why haven't you converted to us yet you hater of truth ?"

The YPA book has quite a section on this - it is highly advised that a man and woman should not even be friends, under the section ' DO platonic relationship [ or is it friendships ] really work ?nNow I remember offending a young JW many years ago 'cause I twice mentioned ( a slip ) 'talking to giurls' - he told us about his mate who all he could do was talk about going out with this girl soo " he walked away from him.". Think about that statement - God made us to meet and fall in love and surely the only date people in the faith against Gods will - he created man and woman to notice each other - to connect on an emotional , chemical and spiritual plane. If you're not looking I have always asked - what ARE you looking at ? It's what we were created to do !

Now theirs is the height of arrogance to assume that everyone is going to fall in love with anyone who shows them a little attention. But we're all human - the slightest thing and you can fall under someones spell for all eternity - what is that ? A piece of advice - if you steal this persons heart - they will be bound to you so - like alcohol love ( and flirting ) can have a bite like a rattlesnake.

It's hard work being human eh ?

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, The gospels names of Matthew, Mark, Luke and JOhn do not necessarily indicate authorship. We are very confident they were written around 4 AD.

Now, a large part of this argument is the striking simularities between Jesus and Buddha, Osiris and others , ie : Osiris was the light of the world, he walked on water, came to save us from our sins, had 12 disciples and a last supper, though it wasn't bread it was something else ( I don't have my notes to hand.) The reason these points are relevant is because it is almost as if Jesus could have been pieced together from a load of "pagan" gods - the stories are too similar, even his sayings are paraphrases of Buddas words. SO COULD HE HAVE BEEN INVENTED BY THE CHURCH ?

Well, the time he lived was one of great upheavel politically , in fact the Jews were a huge threat to the Romans, and Pontius Pilate was quite a dictator, so allowing his crucifiction was a little out of character, as he was the sort to crush any sort of riot, upheavel, and not the kind of man to shrink down to demands.

Jesus words to go " buy swords " which still remain in scripture, his death on the cross / stake ( very quick - unusual) the handling of a dead body on the passover with the items taken to him after in the cave were for treating injuries, not embalming. It is very likely to me that he may not have been the son of God but something quite different, as his crucifiction ( for sedition ) would indicate.

OF COURSE, this could be Satans greatest trick to mislead us all from selling the Watchtower, in which case Why isn't it much better known ?

New sex offender in my hall

Well, he's in good company. "Do not be msiled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.". Can there be any worse association thana child sex offender?

Every congregation has at least one, I can assure you. My JW grandfather sexually abused my mother ( yeah, the family are classic JWs no wonder she's been such a mess all her life after their non handling of such a crime ),and I know of several of these creeps in various halls. They are no different in priveledges to you and I, except they get treated better. What if a child goes to the restrooms during the meeting? Ask yourselves, does it make you shudder ?

Are any of you aware of the Baby P case here in England ? The small baby ( around 18 months) was tortured to death for months by this pychopath, who also has a conviction for raping a two year old. Not a nice fellow I'm sure you'll agree. But get this, he is now, a committed Jehovahs witness, fighting his conviction for the child rape citing that it is an unstable conviction ( she can't give suitable evidence you see )

So, when this piece of human filth is released, if he continues with the religion, how comfortable are the sisters going to be having a man who not only raped a two year old but toirtured a baby to death round their kids. BEar in mind most sister won't know who this man is. Not going to recognise his facve are they ? THis man is EVIL. Still he'll be knocking our doors.

For all those of us who may have sacrificed and lost so much for the truth, such as letting go the sister/brother we fell for because we didn't feel spiritual enough, leaving our worldly girlfirends / boyfriends ( that just smacks of such unbelievable self righteous snobbery when you're out of the ORG) yet we'll have a Pedophile knocking our doors telling us how we should repent and move closer to God. Curse them. To quote Apostle MArk about Hell " Where the worm does not die.". Nice one !

Pondering the Flood...

this is only my second thread here on this forum, so forgive me if i put this on the wrong board.. i'm a jw on the way out....past few years and esp past few months of thinking have pretty much sealed the deal for me.

i'm done.. so anyway, as i allow myself to think more and more and question more and more of the bible, something i have always wondered about is the flood.

did god regret doing that, hence the rainbow promise??

Well, we can debunk the flood as complete nonsense now. I'm pretty sure I heard this in a Discovery Channel program about the search for a rare striped variety of Jaguar. We know that all Jaguars around today are descended from ONE SINGLE pair- this is through the wonders of DNA - they were almost completely wiped out. ( Likely I believe this is known from Micochondrial DNA - only carried by the female) So , now we know we can access this goldmine of information - we know that it is not the case with other speicies, which had the flood been a historical event - would HAVE to be the case. But it isn't so in other words, the Flood of Noahs day is complete nonsense. End of Story. I emphasize the word 'Story".

Unless of course, Satan has conspired to hide this fascinating life saving truth from us to mislead the world from repenting, distributing the Watchtower and giving obedience to his " Wife " the Faithful and Discreet Slave who we are so fortunate to have spoon feed us what to believe, else we'd get misled.

I was required to have a CHAPARONE to do LAUNDRY

what the hell.... i still own the house that my estranged husband lives in, into which he is moving his jw sister and her husband and five children.

they are not all moved in yet and are still working on the house.

my washing machine broke at my townhouse and i asked a week ago last friday if i could come over and do my laundry at the house.

Well, us Apostates are lower than the low. You see Category 1 sex offenders ( pedophiles) to them arer redeemable sinners, but we are pure EVIL. We conspire to cause the deaths of all mankind, misleading them from God in a deliberate attempt to cause them to rise up and believe in the trinity. They see you and me as the Serpent in the Garden of Eden just dying for the chance to ask " Is it really so that Jehovah's really going to destroy this wicked system?" or " Is it really true that Jehovahs Witnesses have got the truth because......". We are the embodiement of the greatest wickedness in this system and die hard enemies of God ( Jehovah ) and a major risk to the safety and spiritual welfare of their children putting their lives in terrible danger.

Come on, you know the truth and you've deliberately turned your back on it, throwing away the chance to warn you fellow man about certain destruction, very selfish and two fingers to Gods will inthe short time we have left in this system.

I notice that the boy is home schooled, VERY interesting. What is it with the Dubs that they must home school ? Take their children away from their friends, alienating them from society. THis causes major social problems in later life and it's so common with them. As humans we are friendly creatures, sociable until pushed to do otherwise. THey drum into you that everyone must be prejudged as to their righteousness ( bad associations ) before you mix, and then constantly kept an eye on as to their spirituality and thus - whether they are " good association.". This destroys our natural obligations. Naturally, you and I are the worst kind of assocation. Don't take it personal, best to feel pity for your husband. He's a lost soul by the sound of things, and probably on the verge of a breakdown. Remember Dubyahs have a 4 X more likelyhood of developing Paranoid Schizophernia. Be thankful you can see.............
