Ya know, that would be a lot easier to read if it did not have that black background.

Flipper
by asilentone inobviously, most of us know that flipper always respond to everybody's posts everytime he starts a topic, i think he is the only one on this board that will respond to everyone in his own threads.
i would think it would be too much work for me or anyone here on this board to respond to everyone.
is that a good thing or bad thing?

I love the way Mr. Flipper responds to everyone. He seems to be such a kind person and has such a positive, caring attitude. I think he is a great guy. I know I don't post much, but I have my favorites on here and Mr. Flipper is definitely at the top of the list.
Thanks so much for what you bring to this board, Mr. Flipper!

What happened to your marriage after you stopped believing?
by JerkhovahsWitless ini know some posters here went through or are going through some painful things right now because of no longer believing when they have a husband / wife that still does.
others were able to free the minds of their spouse.
i'm assuming the latter is a lot more rare.. anyone that wishes to share their story, please do.. i'm looking to pass the info on to someone who doesn't totally believe, but may marry a jw.

My husband was not a JW and he was positively delighted when I quit the borg. Our marriage has gotten better and better without the JW religion in the way. Now we attend the Catholic church together.

I just love this picture of this wolf peering out from behind the tree. I love animals and nature so this an easy choice for my avatar. Even my checks have nature pics.

Our situation is the same, except turned around. I am the hot one, Pat is the cold one. I bought a dual control electric blanket for our bed, so that helps at night. My side is never turned on and the blanket is usually thrown off of me, but his is up around 8. He knows I cannot sleep if I am too hot, and if I cannot sleep I toss and turn and it disturbs his sleep. But I know that the actual in bed is not the problem at your house.
I keep our thermostat to about 64 to 66 at night. I know it must be hard on Pat when he gets up in the morning, but he doesn't complain. I guess I am the one getting my way in this. I do sometimes turn the thermostat up for him during the day if he is cold, but he's good to try to put on more clothes to get warm and drink some hot tea or coffee to warm up. I have to say, Pat is very patient and gracious about this situation.

i'll give you background and yes i am not innocent in the situation but what i was raised to believe is being contradicted by the actions of the elders.. .

I was disfellowshipped in absentia in 1975. I don't remember if I was even invited to meet with them. They called me on the phone on a Sunday morning and told me it was going to be announced at the meeting that morning, which seems strange now because aren't those announcements usually made after the Service Meeting?

Why Would Someone Like me Leave the "Truth"? Part 1
by cantleave inthe title of this series of threads is rhetorical.
i am going to answer it with my own experience.
before i do that, i want to discuss what we are told through the literature and the instruction that is given during meetings, assemblies and conventions, for the reasons why people leave the truth.. the watchtower of 15 november 2008, in the article help them return without delay indicates people leave because of the following:.

As A Witness Did You Typically Feel Guilty?
by minimus ini believe the way the organization keeps many people in its clutches is by means of guilt.
no one can adhere to all of the theocratic rules of the organization and they know that.
i believe jws do things to ease their consciences.

Always, always. I could not sleep at night for thinking of all I needed to be doing in "Jehovah's organization". Life is good now without all that shit.

I had/having an affair with Tiger
by horrible life inall of these women coming forward saying they had an affair with tiger, got my sub-conscience working, and i am pretty sure i had an affair with him too.
proof you ask???

That's funny - I didn't have an affair with him, but my husband seems to think I did. He keeps calling me and telling me he is on the way home and that Tiger better not be here when he gets home.
