I read that Hilary Clinton wears pant suits because she has large, unattractive legs. The Watchtower society will never allow women to wear pants. That in itself ought to be enough to make women think negatively about the org. But look at Pentecostal/Assembly of God women. They just eat it up! Can't have short hair, can't have sleeveless tops, have to wear skirts - no pants ever. Where are their brains?

Still no pant suits, for sisters
by Quarterback ini was watching the cnn this evening..watched hilliary clinton walk towards some dignataries in a foreign land.
i saw that she was well dressed in a pant suit.
she is the us secretary of state, and what she wore was dignified.

Snakes = Married
by SnakesInTheTower init has been over a month and a half since i have even been on the board, and that really only to ask about gps units (got a tom-tom) and mention the new job.
way too busy with life - post jw now 4 years.. of course, the new job has benefits, health insurance, etc.
(including unlimited use of the company car for personal use and the company pays for the unlimited gas for about a $25/week out of my check -- huge benefit) and this has enabled toni and i to finally after a two year engagement, to get married.

Congratulations Rich and Toni! I saw in the paper where you got your marriage license. And your mom came for the ceremony? Wow! I'm happy for you both.

This guy sounds like he has mental problems and is not very smart - oh, that's pretty much anybody who believes the JW religion.

It would be a great relief to be able to not worry about being found out. I only try to keep from it in order to keep family, though I think they all know I don't believe anymore and they ignore it for the sake of family. Though really, I don't try that much to hide it anymore. And I rarely see J-dubs - many of those I see at the store or wherever ignore me anymore.
"it really feels like a relief cause i dont like looking over my shoulder i live a moral and law abiding life and this is a free country i have the right to do what i want . i want to enjoy myself and be happy. i want to go into work and scream marry christmas ho ho ho. (or run down the street with a rubber glove on my head screaming hi i'm a squid) lmao hee hee just kidding 'bout that one. you know what i'm saying."
Indeed, I do know what you are saying. Good for you.

First time ever - I attended my first Catholic Mass tonight...
by ziddina init was very interesting.... of course, the first thing i noticed was the building.
very different from a "kingdom hall" - this catholic church is in an extremely modern, six-sided building.
as one enters the building, their "holy water" font - fountain(???

My husband was raised Catholic. After his mother died 16 months ago, we did start attending the Catholic church he grew up in for a while. It really was a "worship" service and I really enjoyed it for a while. When the congregants take communion, if you are not Catholic you can still go up with your hands crossed over your chest and receive a blessing. I enjoyed the feeling that gave me. But after a while, it just became a chore to have to go every Sunday morning. The newness had worn off and I guess I was bored with it. I really don't want to tie myself down to any church and it will be a long time, if ever, that I attend church services again anywhere.

so oompa got df'd this week...
by oompa inno call to invite me to a committee meeting...no notification of deciding i should be df'd....no telling my jw wife of the announcement...not a chance to appeal what i did not even know what was going on...my mini-serve son is devasted....he even researched it....told me to go to page 153-154 of the od book...never heard of it but it is a green hardback given to all who are to be baptized.
wow...the elders broke every rule in this book as to my case.... i have no respect for these men that can take away your jw family without even telling you they are going to.
my jw son has now begged me to meet with my committee...even though there is prob zero chance they can reverse the decision...that chance is from when they let you know...and you have to appeal by letter within 7 days (i cant make this stuff up!!

"dammit my jw wife just walked in and asked what i was doing??? lmao this can hardly get any better!!!!..........."
How did you respond to that? She and the rest of your family who are in probably hope that the move of disfellowshipping you will move you to repentance and cause you to come back to the fold. Now your wife is going to check up on you. She wants to make sure you have no support from any other quarter. I have great sympathy for the situation you are in. I know this has you in a lot of emotional turmoil. Kicking you when you are down, so typical of that religion.
I'm not sure what to say that would help you, so I will just keep you in my prayers and ask God to take on your load. Take care.
