choosing life- I don't know what's wrong. I received the message you sent on the 17th and I replied. Is there some way to contact an administrator of this website to ask what's wrong?
I see you already asked on the Technical Support forum. I'm stumped. If you have an email address, maybe you could pm me and give that to me so at least I could then email you if I need to.

What Religion Are You?
by choosing life ini know a lot of posters are not religious and others feel no need to attend a church.
but, for those that do attend somewhere, i was curious as to what type of church they chose after leaving the jws and what attracted them to that particular church or religion?
if you were not raised as a jw, did you return to the church you were raised in?

Choosing life- did you get the message I sent you a couple days ago?
At the house church I go to, the guy who lives there, in a way takes the lead, but he always tries to really get other people involved. So that they are talking as much as he is. There's no doctrine taught. I don't feel like I am in a religion there, but they do refer to themselves as a very simple name, which I don't agree with. It's just open worship. It's Jesus centered. It's really not the place to go for arguing or debate because it's supposed to be worship. So if you have a possibly argumentative topic, it would be better to talk about it at a theology type meetup with them. They do that sometimes at a restaurant. Or maybe either after the worship or by email or phone. And even then, they aren't going to argue with anyone, but discuss everyone's thoughts. -

Acts 17:24,25 God...does not dwell in handmade temples, neither is he attended to by human hands as if he needed anything 1 Cor 3:16 Do you not know that you people are God's temple, and that the spirit of God dwells in you? Matt 18:20 For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in your midst. Religion is manmade. It does not come from God. Men are the leaders in religion. Jesus is the leader or head for real christians. It is all about following Jesus. We need association with other christians. But remember, before you decide to go to a church, think about how it was being a witness. The people made you feel welcome, at least for a while, they made you feel safe and loved, with some faults, but they were human after all. If you go to another church, it will be the same. Don't get tricked into thinking that it's all good. If it's just association with people who believe in Jesus, church will fill that need. If it's true worship, people who produce good fruit, holy spirit directed worship, and honest hearts you want, that can only be found in Jesus and his church. Can you think of any church or religion that Jesus is the head? I can't. Read the scriptures I posted again. Where is Jesus? I suggest meeting with people who can encourage you in Christ. I go to a house on Sunday nights. No doctrine, though they personally do believe in the trinity but it is not taught. We have a meal, communion, worship, sometimes songs, open prayer, and open study of the bible. Everything you could want. Can you find that?

Building paradise
by Paralipomenon inokay we're all familiar with the watchtower's hope of a eternal life on a paradise earth.
i know as a witness i never gave it too much thought.
i thought of a park with a nice house and a large yard of nicely groomed grass.

I understand that the WTS has given strange ideas about paradise. For all we know, there may be no paradise. But if there is an earthly paradise, I truly doubt that anyone would have to worry about ANYTHING AT ALL. First of all, we wouldn't have to worry about mess. Isn't God powerful enough to clean it? Second, shelter. Why? how neccesary would it be? Really? If people build their own houses, I would think that everyone would be kept safe and healthy through it all. I suppose people might be naked. I don't care. If God is to reside with those on earth, whose to say that he won't make it possible for us to somehow easily communicate with others. None of it matters. Once God's Kingdom comes fully, we will be taken care of no matter what. Did Genesis talk about Adam having a house? Food was provided. They had what they needed. Who cares what the Society teaches. Mostly they're wrong about everything anyway. It's a shame they got us all to fall for it. They hindered us from knowing Jesu and therefore from knowing the truth about him and God. Maybe you don't really believe in God, or in God's Kingdom. Maybe you do. It's hard to tell here because so many people here were wronged by the Society that they lost faith in God. It's funny though because people here act like they don't believe in God, but really they are just stuck with preconcieved ideas from religion. If they could let those go and read the bible with new eyes, and pray for help, they would have a wonderful relationship with God and His Son. It's a shame. One stupid religion could be the excuse people use to stop worshipping God. I don't for one second believe that they don't believe in God. They are either hurt or have just simply stopped loving God and they want to sin so they act like they don't believe. That's their choice and their loss.

I think people get being directed or guided by the holy spirit and being saved/born again confused. In the old testament people were guided by the spirit but were not born again. They were approved by God but not born again. At least I don't think so. In my understanding, you could only receive life once Jesus bought you from sin and death with his own life and then only if you were chosen. Being born again or saved is the same as receiving life. When Jesus died for us, he died for all mankind. But that doesn't mean we all received life. But we can reach for that goal. I have felt holy spirit in my life where it was such a strong desire to tell others about God and Jesus. It was such a huge love and passion that was just aching to burst out of me and overflow to others. To help other people without any strings attached. My mind was only on God and I was SOOOO happy to feel that way. I don't believe I was saved. I believe that I was given a taste and that if I had been willing to throw out my fear and would have had more faith that Jehovah would take care of me and my family, I think I could've been given life. But I didn't put complete trust in Jehovah and Jesus. And my zeal then slowed down. I still love them both very much and am still doing what I know to do for them. I am not content to just live, but I know that to please God I have to keep seeking Jesus and following Jesus. I think I will be given another chance. Jaguarbass said "I was told once your saved you cant be unsaved. So I guess I'm good to go." It seems to me that you may not care much, but there's a scripture I thought of when you said this. It's in Hebrews 6:4-6. It says "For it is impossible in the case of those who have once been enlightened, tasted the heavenly gift, become partakers of the Holy Spirit, tasted the good word of God and the miracles of the coming age, and then have committed apostasy, to renew them again to repentance, since they are crucifying the Son of God for themselves all over again and holding him up to contempt." Not that you have fallen away or commited apostacy. But this scripture points to the idea that just because you receive life, or are born again, you can lose it. So the saying "Once saved always saved" is not true. It's more like "once you're saved, if you fall away or commit apostacy you will not have another chance" or "Once save you will never be given the chance to be saved again, so treasure it". Because once you recieve life, if you die while you have that life, you'll be resurrected to life and not to judgment. But if you lose that life by leaving Jesus and apostasizing, you won't even be resurrected because you had already received life. When you're saved, you are bought from death and have life. If you lose that life there is no more life for you. I believe that means no resurrection. I believe that means the second death. But not because of sinning. Only if you reject Jesus after you've been given life can you lose that life and therefore die the second death.

Why Did Jesus Not Write Anything ?
by choosing life inhave you ever wondered why jesus did not put anything in writing?
he was here to explain his father to us and teach us how to gain salvation.
wouldn't it have been a good thing to write his instructions down, rather than leave it up to others many years later?

Evetteto, abigail, and uninformed, and anyone else I missed that does believe in Jesus. Thank goodness there are some people this board know what faith is. I know this makes me sound stupid to the unbelievers, but you don't need proof when you have faith. That is the whole point. Even if there was a bible book written by Jesus, no one would believe it. Because they don't want to. They want to disprove Jesus so that way they don't have to love him. This board is a lurking place for demons. Only the truly faithful can come here and not get taken down by the demonic influence here. One person on the board said they used to believe in Jesus until some posters here "proved" to her that Jesus wasn't real. That is what his board does. If you aren't careful, choosinglife, you too will lose complete faith in Jesus. The evil here eats you alive. Especially when you come here everyday for "encouragement". This board fills your mind with bitterness and resentment when we should be focusing on love. But how can we have time for love when we spend it all here, getting mad at the "borg" and feeling sorry for ourselves. We need to get over it. If we let this organization hold us down we will lose. We'll lose out on a pure relationship with Jesus and our Father that we so desperately need. Also, Jesus wrote the entire Bible. Jesus IS the Word of God.
