ok, ive been trying to work out this one for a while, so please just put up with me if i make no sense whatsover....
Over nearly the last year or so i havnt been to any meetings at all, i realised that all things JW is a big money making lie that is destroying peoples lives. After leaving the JWs i started to question the bible (as most probably do). I researched inteligent design and evolution, and put them on an even playing ground so i could get a proper view of everything without my old 'Watchtower goggles' on that seemed to stop me from seeing anything else but the friggin' organisation.
Personaly i beleive we were created by something/someone, and to me the universe is to big and to complicated to have just happened by chance. But that doesnt mean that i beleive the bible, the problem i have is what do i do now? if i think there is some kind of supreme being is he good or evil?
It seems that he would have to be evil, because what kind of good being lets horrible things happen (im not going to mention what, but you know what im talking about).
Should i pay any respect to something that lets these things happen? sure i have a good life, but thats not the point, im not thinking about me, im thinking about all the millions of other people that are starving to death, the kids that knew nothing but pain for their entire existance, the mothers that had to watch the most precious thing in their life suffer.
Where is god when this happens?
I know people that beleive in the bible will say that there is a purpose for all of this, but can you really justify it? here is an example i told my Dad to get my point accross on why i think the bible is unfair...
Bruce has 2 dogs (a male named Rosco and a female named Shelly), Bruce just baked a nice meat pie for dinner, he puts the pie on the bench to cool down before he eats it, he then leaves the kitchen and goes to watch some TV.
Now Rosco and Shelly know how they are not supposed to each food of the bench, and they know that they will get into big trouble, theyve done it before and they learned their lesson.
But Rosco and Shelly make the mistake of jumping up onto the bench and eating half of the meat pie.
Now Bruce has finished watching TV and decides to go and eat his dinner, but he soon realises that his dogs ate it! So he puts them outside and makes them live the rest of their days in the backyard instead of sleeping at his feet on the end of his bed.
But something else happens... Rosco and Shelly get pregnant, and because Bruno is still very upset with them he waits untill they have their puppies and takes them away...
Bruce puts each of the puppies into tiny cages, barely big enough for them to blink an eyelid, he gives them only just enough dirty water and food to keep them alive, he also pokes and prods each of the puppies through the cages and torments them all day long, but he does all of this in front of Rosco and Shelly.
Bruce does all of this because the two dogs stole one pie of the bench, he does it because from that one mistake the dogs offspring have to pay for something they have nothing to do with. (instead of just punishing Rosco and Shelly).
Now i know thats a bit far fetched and everything, but you get the general idea, this is what i dont get, why (according to the bible) are we dealing with problems from our ancestors from thousands of years ago? why is that even remotely sane?!
I dont see any kind of logic behind it, it would make more sense to just let Adam and Eve finish their lives and then start again wouldnt it?!
This is what really confuses me, what is the pooint to anything to do with life?! why?! sure its good (to me, not everyone), but what happens after you die!? This is all getting me really confused and im sure im not the only one....
Anyway thank you for reading, and sorry about the outburst, i just needed to clear my head....
