  A Message To All The Lurkers

  in recent weeks, i have seen several posters that some call the jw "lurkers," meaning the witnesses who read the articles of this site, and are perhaps questioning what the watchtower has been teaching them, yet are still very defensive of the watchtower's actions.

  as a result, i have seen and participated in several heated debates.

  it seems the main criticism of us is that we focus too much on the "negative," that we dig up the past too much, and worst of all, that we have nothing to really complain about, other than the personal vendettas some of us have against the watchtower.

  i know exactly what you mean, my job requires a full day of typing and walking to the photocopier its 8:20 over here and ive still got till 4:45! ARGHHH!

  What planted the seed of doubt that lead you to leave or think of leaving?

  i've been thinking of this a lot lately.

  the following experience ties my first doubt in with my present life.

  as a backdrop to this, you should know that i was a 5th generation "raised in the truth" jw through my mother (her great-grandfather got "the truth" from pastor russell).

  for me what started it was probably the fact that the elders are so sneeky, and they lie and cover up facts about child abusers, that led me to think that there is no way that they are appointed by Jehovah, so i never beleived that, then a bit later it was the UN relationship that put the final nail in the coffin for me.

  Sign of the Times/the End is Near!!!!!!!!!!

  my dad told me a story today about a dub he works with.

  my dad is a huge spots fan, and he was talking to this dub about the incident a couple years ago when some baseball player wrote a book about all the steroid use in sports...just normal conversation...and this dub shook his head and said..."just goes to show you the end is near, its a sign of the end of system of things".

  where in the bible did it list baseball players steroid use as a sign of the end???

  i dont think theres anything that they dont consider to be a sign of the end, everything that they see they reflect in some way to how the end is coming.

  Year 2014 Get Together!

  do you think it might be appropriate for a large ex-jw convention to be held in 2014 at the hotel in cedar point, ohio?

  maybe, thousands attending!

  it would give you plenty of time to plan for and give a statement for any familiar with watchtower history!.

  sounds good! pity im from australia! funny thing is you'll probably get JWs out the front telling all the 'postates how ''wrong'' they are, a bit of a change from 'postates telling JWs out the front of their conventions how false their religion is! role reversal anyone?? lol

  District Assembly Games

  i left the jw's when i was 17, so most of these games were played during teenage years.. here are some things i remember doing with my friends during the assembly:.

  1. the last clap.

  after a brothers talk or when "new light" emerged and the entire stadium would erupt with clapping we would see if one of us could be the very last person in the entire stadium to clap.. 2. the laugh game.

  does anyone remember the game where you would try to start everyone off clapping? that was the most fun, me and my mates would sit there waiting to get the very first clap in and start it off, sometimes we would clap at the most inapropriate times and everyone would clap! that kept us entertained for hours!

  you have to search in the world newspaper site for a country say australia, then you go to a state for example western australia then a city, then it will show you all the local newspapers of that city, (it will have links to them) then you go into the newspapers website then there should be a way to contact the newspaper office, and you just send it to them.
