  jeff skilling, one of the top sleazebags who screwed thousands of people out of their jobs, pension and livelihood at enron, will be sentenced tomorrow.

  what sentence would you give this creep if it were up to you?.

  Hammurabi and Moses! Did Moses plagurise Hammurabi?

  hammurabi, a great king of the babylonians was a great lawgiver.

  some of his laws were pretty humane and he set in place in babylon a legal system with judges, lawyers etc and some pretty advanced for its time, laws protecting women and children from abuse.. he claimed to have received his laws from the top of a mountain engraved in stone!.

  he claimed this 500 years before moses did and to be honest, his laws were pretty much more humane, though still not overthrowing a life for a life, he was able to set in place compensation system which meant people of babylon were not after eachothers lives anymore for misdemeanours but could claim compensation from the courts.

  I'm confused. Didn't Moses write about the garden of Eden and creation and that snake that Eve had sex with? Didn't all that happen before King Hammburabi's lifetime? Suddently, I have become hungry and desire to go to burger king... Don't know why...

  my kids have re-discovered that they can be a lot more fun than ps2 games and of course it's something we can all play together on a more sociable level.

  Hello Everyone! Butters here,

  Just wanted to ask a few questions about free thinkers. How many of you feel you are truly a free thinker, not involved in some sort of group that has capes and drapes, or a "label"? I want to see how many besides myself and Skyking are free of allowing others to decide our thoughts about certain events and situations.

  Many people these days seem to want to be part of some sort of large group of others that all think and act the same way. I find it quite odd that many people who were once JW's can still attract themselves back into a herd that is being led by the masses. At the same time, I find it quite probable as well, seeing that at one time, we were all once sorely misled.

  Why do we trust our media? Why do we allow ourselves to be programmed by others? IS true free thought really allowed by this world? I know I have broken free of all control from others entirely. I know that I have become cumbersome to this world's social, political and economis ideas. I simply cannot function in this world "successfully" according to it's majority standards. I am too different to make it anymore. I am finding this out the more and more intelligent I become and the more adapt I am becoming to "their" ways.

  I really don't think like most others. That is obvious. I am definitely not patriotic. I hate living in the U.S. for sure! Many red neckish types will say instantly and without considering my finanical situation, "Well why don't you leave it ya commie bastard" or something loving to that effect... I simply cannot is the answer, and I appreciate any donations any of you may have to fund my one way ticket to Amsterdamn.

  Any thoughts fellow sheeple and ex-sheeple?

  of course, as it's the murdering, war-crime-committing, un-mandate-ignoring, nuclear-non-proliferation-flouting israeli friends of america, they probably won't see it as an issue at all.. funny that ... they were dead keen on going to war over just the hint of this very thing but probably won't even condemn it.. it's about time that sanctions were imposed on israel.

  Oddly enough, since 9/11 there have been no more Anthrax scares, Smallpox, Bombs, airline hi-jackings or any other type of color coded scare tactics being instigated by FOX or the Bush administration. I find this amusing. Did the terrorists give up? IS Osama still planning other attacks? Wonder why they caught all those other guys but not him. Strange. If he has been on the FBI's most wanted list for years, why did America let his family fly out of the country? Why not hold them as colateral?

  Driving in Winter Conditions, what tires do you prefer?

  here in quebec, i'd say that about 80% of cars have "winter tires" during the winter.

  i'm still an "all season tire" person.

  maybe not as good at lower temperatures, and doesn't give an as good traction on ice and snow, but it's a compromise i choose to save money.. here, in the winter category of tires, we have ice and snow tires.

  I would forive him, love him and take him in and feed him and give him clothes from what little I have. Although that is the humble attitude which does not seek vengeance upon others. I still hope Japan feels this way 60 years after the U.S. murdered 500,000 of it's citizens in one quick flash of light and radiation...

  Boy, some people are focused on what one man has done to many, but fail to remember the really big acts of hatred and greed and violence in history... Makes me wonder about humans and their monkey brains.

  In Hope of Helping a Dub become Ex-Dub

  when you take the opportunity to help a dub and show them flaws in the religion - hoping that maybe you can free them, what is your motive?.

  i find that although my main motive (i think) is to free them for their sake, the thought of having an ex-jw i can talk to and would understand me that way, would help a lot..... do you do it for those two reasons alone?

  i do it for the main reason but the second often crosses my mind..

  That is an excellent understanding you have Drew Sagan. The only possible thing I could see having it not work would be the elder influences and others in the borg who will try their convincing "Brigher light" and "dont' listen to doubters" reasoning. But seriously, that is one of the best explanations I have heard yet... Bravo to you for wording it that way...
