FIRST Demon - - I sent my JW sister an email with some info about WTS. I just got a package in the mail from her. Course she disagreed with all the info but said her computer crashed right after she opened that email and she doesn’t know if it can be fixed. She can’t even get Windows to open. She says - - - Very Weird!

Because you can
by free2beme inwhile we might think that people who provide customer service are rude, inconsiderate and unthankful.
take a moment to think about how we as a society treat one another.
for example, when you call in with a problem on something and treat the person who answers the phone like they are the one who caused the problem, made the decision who lead to your hassle and treat them with all the anger you have built up.

Good topic - It's always good to be reminded to be nice. I recently retired and the last 6 years were in a call center. Some of us worked mostly written complaints but all had to take at least a day or two a week on the phones. You have my emphathy. Been there - done that! . . . It was always amazing to me how rare it is for anyone to accept responsibility for their own mistakes. Sometimes customers do need to be persistent (but be nice about it). . . . It always felt good to help someone get a problem resolved. . . . When I think about maybe getting a part time job I just move right on past the call center/customr service ads.

What's the most stupid comment a JW told you?
by JH ini remember when i was new in the "troof", i was walking in a mall and a jw window washer saw me, and asked, "what are you doing here"?.
yeah, he had a good reason to be at the mall, cause he was washing windows, but i had no business there.... i guess he thought that i was being seduced by material stuff.... and i was stupid enough, not to tell him, mind your own business fu**er....

A CO's wife told me before I got married that I was engaged and I couldn't change my mind about getting married. Once engaged you have to go through with it. . . . I don't know whether it was more stupid for her to say it or for me (at 19) to believe her cause I knew it was a mistake. Oh well, after 4 years I was a single mom with 2 beautiful babies.

If it wasn't for the "Truth".......
by restrangled inhow many out there heard that statement in their lives?.
the big one for me was: "if it wasn't for the truth"...your father would have beat the tar out of you.
funny, thats all i remember happening through the years.. r.. .

Me too . . . If it wasn't for the "Truth" . . . I would not have been pinched and/or taken out and whipped for not sitting still during the meetings. I even had a CO pop me when I was 2 or 3 for running around in the KH after a meeting. Guess he thought my parents weren't fast enough on the punishment. (I don't remember the CO one - I was too young - but heard the story many times growing up.) ... I remember one night mom was out front beating me and a sister walked by and asked if she could help. : ) - - - I never knew whether she was trying to save me or wanted to help beat me!!!

I'm one of the EVIL SLAVE
by Amazing inbasd on my comment to another post titled "1979," i thought that this would make an interesting separate topic.. a little history: many here are aware that i was an ms and then elder and of the anointed while a jw.
i openly professed anointing for 20-years of the 27-years i was associated with the watchtower.
since that time, i have totally and completely renounced all but one watchtower doctrine.

Amazing, you said "I have totally and completely renounced all but one Watchtower doctrine." . . . Can you tell us which doctrine?

I thought I was alone
by elinor ini just could not believe it when i stumbled across this forum recently.
i was actually doing research for my dad who wanted to see the world's viewpoint of the failed 1975 prophecy.
he came into the truth less than three years ago and though my mom has been a witness since she was a teenager she never spoke of that particular time period to him.

Welcome elinor. . . . . I just found this website recently also. There are some brilliant people here and I have learned so much from them. I was born to two pioneers so it's all I knew for a long time. I faded many years ago back in the early 1980's. I missed a lot of what has happened in the WBTS since then because I didn't want to know. Now I find it very interesting looking from the outside back in & catching up on all the changes.

Demonic expereiences
by Tyrone van leyen inall bs and religion aside we've all heard the demon stories of the witnesses but has anyone actually had an personal experience such that you can't explain with your rational mind that shocked you and may lend credence to the possibility of something paranormal.
not something hyped, or emotional, but something your gut told you is just couldn't happen and did?

Three times in the last month I have been sitting in bed late at night watching TV. All the lights are out - just the TV is on. All of a sudden the ceiling fan light comes on and the fan turns on. It's a new house. Hopefully it's just an electrical problem. It is creepy.
