just had a very strange email from someone called "fearless" that said on the subject line "chinese missile shoots down us aircraft" it came with an attachment but oe would not allow me to open it, i presume it must be some spoof or spammer but has anyone else had anything similar?.

I had 2 that went straight to my Spam Box. One was re US Aircraft the other re US Satellite. Just deleted them.

The Preaching work has ended and now the end will come... have you heard ?

this one was too funny... sent to me by my brother an audio tape of a talk stating that the preaching work is now over and that witnesses are in every country in the world, except north korea, somila, and afganistan (excuse my miss spellings) but really this was just too funny so funny i could not even listen to the whole thing with out screaming in laughter.

the brother goes on to say that they will not be preaching in those countries becaues jehovah god will never put his people in danger and allow them to be killed... hello... what about all those that died over no blood, and what about all those in africa rewanda that the brother told to refuse to except an id card sumilar to our ss card telling those poor brothers that it was a form of worship?

i could not believe it but thought it was just tipical of the times, too many of the witnesses are leaving, and the love of the greater number has cooled the hell off... they are grabbing at straws right about now.

after spending 2.5 hrs on the phone with a lifelong friend whom i had not been in touch with for several years, she revealed to me that she too had been molested in the 70's by my uncle; s.m., a well known elder at the time.

he began his career in sexual deviance while living on staten island ny in the early 60's.

he moved to plymouth nc in the early 70's while married to my young aunt linda.

His prior congregation records & info should have been forwarded to his current congregation, correct? Did he have to do the apology letter after moving to GA? Was he reinstated by GA elders?

If so, wouldn't all of this info about his past have been available to the elders in GA?

I was an accident born to two pioneers. 3rd Generation JW. Finally wised up and was faded out by my early 30s. My parents are still firmly entrenched and ready for the Big A.

Elder wisdom ???

this is elder wisdom in play, at my last congregation they had a map mounted on the wall of the whole territory, this was divided into small segments and given a number, thus producing a quantity of smaller maps.

( a bit like a jig saw puzzle) which was also given a corresponding number.. they then had a colour coding system of round stickers, red, blue and green.

red = territory not covered in 2 years.

LOL - It's been so long I have forgotten a lot of those little things. I do remember seeing the map hanging up on the wall in the KH.

I guess the one good thing that came out of all that field service is I learned how to read maps really good.

Give me a map and I can get anywhere. And it was all from those little cards with the sections of maps stuck on them.

Patient Unexpectedly Blows Off Steam!

i volunteered today to work with an agency that cares for people with psychiatric and intellectual problems, a kind of place that helps former patients learn coping and practical skills.

i was being introduced to some of the patients and for a brief moment got to talk with a young man who told me about some serious problems along with his separation from his wife.

suddenly, it all came out how jehovahs witnesses f..... up his life and interfered in his marriage!

Sounds like he's on the same roller coaster ride many of us are on or have been on.

for me it was the fear of getting 'caught'?

if that's the case, just don't give out names, places or dates.. i have been on jwd for over 2 years.

the only way 'they' can catch me is if i give out details on the forum.. so lurkers...come out and get empowered!.

I'm just a bit shy & timid until I get to know people.

I think I was told too often when I was little that "Kids are to be seen not heard."

I also have a bad habit of sticking my foot in my mouth. Over the years I've found it best if I just be quiet. :)
