my partner and i arrived today at our weekend country home.

we haven't been here for a couple of weeks.

anyway, the jw left us a little surprise folded up on our front door...their "false religion" tract.

JWs don't do parties? My cong. has a party every other week. Then again, the fact that it's a spanish cong. could have something to do with it.

If people left because the organ transplant policy was changed, think of how many will feel devastated if they lift the ban on blood transfusions, not to mention potential lawsuits.

hey, for you yahoo/google discussion group junkies, i've just created a discussion group on both yahoo and google for former and current jws who are attending college or are seriously thinking about attending college (meaning you've begun the process).

this is for us to centralize discussion on issues relating to college and to network and encourage academic excellence.

check them out, i'd like to get this started.

I'm scared and I need help

so, i think next week is when i find out if i am approved to be an ms. if not, thank god, but if i am, i'm in deep crap.

elder dad is confident that i'll accept, but my plan is to try to get out of it by saying that i want to finish school and get an aa degree, at least, before accepting more responsibilities.

Possibly, but I highly doubt it. Spanish congregations are oblivious when it comes to wrongdoings of the wt, at least from my observations. nicolaou: were you ever considered to be appointed after that?

I figure my dad's gonna keep pressuring me until I say yes or I give him the real explanation as to why I don't want to accept. I'm freaking out, because I don't know if I should stick with the finishing school story, or hit him with something big, like the U.N. thing. That's probably not a good idea, but I need to confront him someday, and the biggest slip-up of the wt with evidence from non-apostate sources is the U.N. scandal. So my questions are: 1. Should I share the U.N. thing with him? 2. If I do, how do I start? I can't even think of an outline because I'm that worried. For those of you that confronted your JW relatives with the U.N. thing, how did it go? Thank you all in advance for your advice/suggestions.
