I think most of us would not be on this forum if we had not given in to the pressure from family and friends to get baptized so young. Knowing my niece's personality I see struggles and many meetings with the elders in her future.

Feeling Sick
by FreeGirl2006 injust found out my 12 year old niece got baptized on saturday.
that is the same age i got baptized....as we all know it just should not be allowed.
if a child is not mature enough in other areas of life how can they be mature enough to commit their lives to the borg?

What should we do to make sure we receive a blood transfusion?
by ILTSF inmy partner and i both grew up jw and our parents are all still in.
we have been together for several years, but are not married.
we are wondering what we should do to make sure that in the event that one of us needed a blood transfusion and was unable to make the decision themselves, the other would be able to make the decision, rather than that responsiblity being given to our parents (who would deny a transfusion).

It is going to depend on the laws where you reside so I recommend you both meet with an attorney. I live in the US and my boyfriend and I drew up medical directives spelling out the medical decisions we entrusted to the other.

New York Tourist Crap Highlights The Watchtower buildings in Brooklyn
by steve2 inwell i'm a day shy of having spent one week in new york - my first time.
what a dazzlingly vibrant and noisy city - one that never sleeps.
new yorkers rightly proclaim this metropolis as one of a kind.

Spendy but lovely restaurant: Scarpetta 355 W 14th St.
Grimaldi's in Brooklyn Heights (yes, you will see a ton of dubs, but trust me, it is worth the sacrifice). Great pizza--get there early and prepare to stand in line.
Ninja New York is a fabulous food experience. Even if you just go for drinks, it is worth a trip to their bathrooms (featured on the Travel Channel).
Shopping: Century 21 and of course Saks Fifth Avenue. If you are a make up junkie like I am, hit up Sephora.
Wicked is an awesome musical to see while you are there.
I am envious of your plans--hope you have a blast!

The ( empty ) CHAIR where god SITS aka: the teddy bear in the closet
by Terry inhave you ever seen some lonely, pathetic soul sitting at a dinner table all by themselves clearly waiting on their date to arrive?
they keep looking at their watch.
the waiter comes back now and again to check on them and is sent away.. every time the door opens their head turns round expectantly and a faint lift of the eyebrows signals hope.. .

Just put in a pledge for your project...sounds cool. My boyfriend is sci-fi fantasy writer and I try to support self-published writers when I can. Good luck (gasp!) on meeting your Kickstarter goal.
