I don't know if 'bouncing back' is the right way to put it if you were raised in it, because there is no 'back' for you to 'bounce' to. It's more like clawing your way up to the light after being buried alive. I don't think I've fully integrated into a totally healthy mindset, but I'm at least 75% there most of the time. It's too complicated to really describe how I did what I did, all's I know, is that I don't lay awake most nights wrestling with my mind. I'm at peace, but it took years of reading, a mountain of faith (in facts, in me, in life, not god per se), and years of talking. Last night, my cousin's gf was asking us why witnesses do or say or believe this or that. I love the feeling of not really knowing why, like forgetting! My brain isn't all twisted and contorted and in cognitive dissonance anymore. I just asked her if she'd like a free home bible study and she's like NO! So we were like, who cares why they are so dumb, let's talk about our lives and the future.

Uhhhh, I really do appreciate the fact that you care and are trying to reach out to me. I extend the same gesture to you. As much as you feel bad for me in my situation, I feel bad for you in your situation. And like you, I see the good in me, which is why I left my former situation behind. I guess where we differ is you haven't told anyone about me, but I posted your lame little email on an apostate board! Mwaa-ha ha ha ha! (Just kidding) Hey ex, I have a suggestion for you. You don't even have to physically change addresses. Just mentally move aside the fuzz and sign on to JWD! They will accept you! They accepted me even after all the crap I did. I've fallen and I don't want to get up.

I think you can order that book and many more on the Free-minds site. Or you might be able to get it at the library. Just make sure you keep it hidden for now. Witnesses freak out when they see it. I left the witnesses for various reasons, but my dad was bugged out and was demanding to know what other knowledge I had stumbled upon to allow me to let go of the troof. he asked if I had read Franz's books. I hadn't, didn't know what they were. Wish I had read it back then though. It really helps. Ray Franz was where you are right now, and he walks you very gently to greener pastures. It is a grieving time, but it's fabulous that you can start YOUR life now.

My family is held so tight
by whatlite? indoes anyone have any suggestions?.
my sister has not spoken to me in almost two years.
she thinks i am an apostate for knowing the watchtower joined the un.
-
XU
Are you DF'd or DA'd? Is it possible your sister wants confirmation that you are an "apostate"? Because, maybe you should ask her what she thinks. She could use the practice (thinking on her own). I would think playing the role of a safe sounding board for her would be better for you than unleashing all your knowledge onto her and having it be too much for her and have her run away for good.

Having a hard time with this, what to do, what to do
by nonamegiven infor those who don't know my story (look up past posts, i posted it) here's the cliff's notes.. i was df'd about 10 weeks ago for things other than apostacy.
i plan in being reinstated to keep communication with my family (wife and i were raised in the........tr......tru.........truth) so i am still going to the meetings.. well, for any that don't know my wife had a baby thursday woo-hoo!
anyway, the cong we are in is actually fairly loving and it's quite a shock to me since it's very different from what i have experienced for the last 30+ years.

I remember when I was in high school and DF'd the first time. People would come over and see my parents and ignore me. My brother even asked my mom to have me go in the basement because I made him uncomfortable and he thought it might stumble others who came over. I was still in the mind f&%^ of the dub world, so I dutifully went down the stairs. But it totally paid off in the end because I was able to see who these people really were. You, on the other hand, already know. And I am DF'd now for the 2nd and forever time, because I can't go to a hall for a year. I haven't read your whole story, but when I think about your little baby boy, and whatever other kids you might have, I think, oh please stay in that house and let them know as they grow that they have choices to be themselves and don't have to give it all to the borg. If you guys were split, she'd just have more ammo to use against you. This way, like I'm sure others have pointed out, you are the head. Also, you love your wife and family. That is a dilemma. I hope we can help as you go through this.

Hey people! Just wanted to let you know that the view from up here on this wild beast is fantastic!!! Or I would say, "For all you out there in the audience, if there is any small voice inside you that says something ain't right, LISTEN TO IT! Get out of her my people. Let my people go. Dudes, all your nagging doubts and fears are right on. You are wasting your life and hurting a lot of people around you. Read Ray Franz's books. Don't be afraid of the truth. Peace out."

Back of the hall stragglers... were you one?
by Fleshybirdfodder inthere were mother's with babies, there were those suffering from vericose veins that had to stand up.
what about the rest of us?
in my cong there were only a few "gifted ones" who'd do sound and it was behind the literature counter (our hall was tiny).

I always knew you guys with 'mic priviledges' were douchebags. ha ha. I never really hung out back there. I was too busy proving my loyalty by holding my bladder for Jah.

Wouldn't this ad imply there are a "pair" of true religions? I thought there was only ONE!!!

How long has it been?

Hey people. I'm DF'd and my parents and two older brothers haven't had a meaningful conversation with me for probably a good seven years+. Many people over the years have told me, "Oh, they'll come around. It might take them a while, but they won't be able to stay away." (Not knowing witnesses). So my question is, is there any merit to this sentiment? Have you been shunned for awhile, then accepted back by family members to a certain extent or fully? I don't really expect to happen for me, but I'm curious if it's happened for you.
